The Soothies brand is nice for several reasons. First of all, it's all one piece so cleaning it is really easy, no crevices. Second, it mimics the shape of an actual nipple shape while in the baby's mouth.
I am looking for a good pacifier that will not give my two week old nipple confusion as I am nursing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We like soothies- they are not supposed to cause nipple confusion. Most hospitals are now recommending them.
It depends on your child....but I used Nuk brand and sucessfully nursed for 22 mo!
My lactation consultant at Regions Hospital said that giving a pacifier should not cause nipple confusion because it isn't supplying milk or a source of food. My daughter took a pacifier from her first day in the hospital and was strickly breastfed until she was 9 months. If you're thinking of introducing a bottle, that's a different story. Good luck!
I think your baby is going to be the one to decide which pacifier you use. My daughter constantly wanted to suck when she was a newborn. We tried so many different kinds of pacifiers until finally we found one that she would take. It was the Playtex Binky in silicone. She did great with it and never had any issues with nipple confusion while nursing.
Baby #1 took a pacifier from very early on, and nursed like a champ. Baby #2 was given a pacifier in the hospital, but never liked it--and at 22 months, he's STILL nursing like a champ. I think if you are dedicated to nursing and you and your baby have established a good routine (are you in pain? re you happy to be nursing? does baby seem to want to nurse, and be content while nursing?), you're probably ok with giving a pacifier.
My baby was in the NICU and they gave us two soothies nipples- one for breastfeeding and one for bottle feeders. The bottle feeder one was green and the breast one was purple and smaller.
I just wanted to mention that our midwife told us to give our baby a paci around two weeks; no earlier and not much later. I'm thinking that if you do this, it won't matter all that much what kind you give. We used the flat bottomed kind and our son did just fine nursing.
i used the nuk brand and it worked just fine for my son. your 2 week old wont be able to keep it in his/her mouth nor will he/she be able to retreive it when dropped, so its really not an issue. nipple confusion isnt as common as its been thought. babies adjust accordingly quite well. as long as you are not having any issues breastfeeding, and you are just fine with the way things are working, a nuk brand, or wahtever brand you want, should be fine.
remember that some of the sucking babies do is to establish and increase milk supply, so the first place a baby should be sucking, even if not for eating, is the breast. :D
contact a la leche league representative in your area, or near your area. www.llli.org is their website i believe... they are FANTASTIC and will be able to give you TONS of support and information as you go through your breastfeeding journey! :D and thank you, from your child, for making the decision to give your child the best start possible! :D
I have a one month old that I've been nursing, and I use the Gerber Nuk silicone pacifiers. I just started giving it to him at three weeks, and he seems to do just fine!
I used the NUK brand and my baby still nurses great. I noticed my boy needed more sucking than my girls did. My girls never took a paci, but I am so glad that my boy took one. What a lifesaver. No confusion for him either between nursing, bottle feeding and paci. Good Luck!
With both of mine I have used a combination of Nuk and Avent. Both of them were good eaters and we nursed for many months...and both had a pacifier in their first week of life.
we tried them all but my son only liked the MAM ones. He never had any trouble with nursing and he had a pacifier since he was 2 days old.
We used Avent from about day 3 :) She was never confused and nursed like a champ! Good luck!
My daughter (now nearly 8) nursed until she was nearly 3, and we never had an issue. We used Avent bottles (when I went back to work when she was 2 weeks old) and Avent pacifiers - neither seemed to cause any issue.
Good luck!
