Overcoming "Coffee problems"...help!

Okay, so I like to drink coffee. These days it's decaf only.

However, it makes me pee. A lot. I swear, I can pee every two or three minutes for an hour or two after I finish drinking my morning (or evening) coffee!! As much as I love coffee, this is just a big waste of my time.

Does anyone know of a way to deter this reaction, or a coffee that doesn't cause it, etc? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Catherine...exactly!! I always thought the caffeine was the diuretic component of coffee...hah! And no...I drink at least my 8 glasses of water a day and suffer no side effects...or from decaf soda. Just the coffee! (I gave it up...the caffeine...almost two years agio for nursing and it causes migraines for me, and I can't take my meds for that either.)

Maybe if you just chewed on the grounds? :o)

Since coffee is a diuretic (in large quantities), I don't know if there's any way around this. Sorry!

Decaf?! You poor thing.

No, I really don't know a way around it. I love my coffee though, so I put up with the side effects. But - I thought caffeine was the diuretic, not the actual coffee? Do you have to pee all the time if you drink herbal tea, say, or water, juice, etc?

Interesting that decaf does this as well. Coffee is a diuretic, and decaf still has a bit of caffeine, but not so much that it would usually make you pee so frequently.

I have the same issue with water. I glass of water for me = about 6 trips to the bathroom. I don't get it.
