I spray oven cleaner on it (follow the directions).
Best thing I've found that works yet!
I stink at cleaning. lol
With a self-cleaning oven, after all the bits are incinerated and are at the bottom of the oven, how do you cleaning-experts remove them? Then what do you use/do to effectively clean out the oven and broiler? The oven's not in bad shape, but my attention to detail isn't so great. Any tips would be welcome!

Even when ovens say they are self-cleaning, it seems like there's still greasy residue that accumulates. Rather than use the self-cleaning feature, I just use Easy-Off oven cleaner. It's kind of nasty stuff (you don't want to breathe the fumes), but it works!
You just wipe the bits out with a wet cloth. All they are is ash.
I take it the broiler is not self cleaning? Oven cleaner!
I wipe out the remaining ash and incinerated pieces with old wet rags or wet paper towels. Something I can throw away.
If you place a layer of tin foil on the bottom of the oven and also use tin foil over the broiler pan when using, you'll save yourself a lot of future clean up too.
I use old cleaning cloths, moistened, and just wipe the whole inside of the oven. Then I wash the cloths separately because they're icky.
I assume that, since your oven is self-cleaning, then it has cleaned your broiler unit as well. Since your oven is off when you wipe it, don't hesitate to use a damp cloth on that area, too. In fact, I start at the top of the oven and work down.
I also clean the racks separately with a strong cleaner (like an SOS pad). My racks don't look shiny if they are left in the oven when I flip the cleaning switch.
