I live in Victorville, CA, which is the Mojave Dessert. I have recently been diagnosed with an Ovarian Cyst (Slightly Larger than a golf ball) and I was directed here by a friend to get some helpful advice and ect. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good FEMALE OB/GYN specialist in the Victorville or even Los Angeles area. Or if anyone has anything for some morale support.

What can I do next?

I live in Apple Valley and while I can't recommend your obvious preference of a female OB, I can recommend an EXCELLENT OBGYN surgeon in Apple Valley if you find you need one. He delivered both my children by c-section and I have very little scarring (both external and uterine) and had quick recoveries. In speaking with nurses I knew in the hospital, he was the one they would go to in a heartbeat if they needed gyn surgery (inside information). Dr. Amal Guha. His office is kitty corner across the street from St. Mary L&D. It is a personal decision and you need to feel comfortable with your provider. You are doing the right thing, talk to as many people as possible. Good luck!

I'm in VV, too. Honestly, I've heard less than wonderful things about the "best" OB up here. I still go down the hill. My OB is male. I called a friend with a female OB in Chino, but she doesn't sound great. Sorry I'm not much help. Good luck on your search.

For moral support, not a doc, but I had ovarian cysts and was told they are not cancerous, they are fluid filled bumps or whatever you call them. What the docs will do is drain it and watch it. Some pop on their own.

I don't know of an OB/GYN but I had a cyst removed. I was pregnant then I wasn't and the cyst had to be removed. I was back to work in a day.
