Where I live, a lot of landscaping companies put up Christmas lights. Maybe it is the same in your area.
Can anyone give me a recommendation of a company that sets up outdoor residential Christmas lights? I am thinking about asking for this service for my present. It would last for over a month, so I would think that I would get my money's worth!! I looked up one company and they wanted $500--good thing I was sitting down :) We have lights--it is just hard to get my husband outside to put them up.

One of the pest control companies does it in our area. Maybe other companies who are used to being up on ladders.....gutter cleaning etc.
Dear S.-
Maybe some teens in your area? My ex did not like getting on roof...but since the kids have been 14 or so, they LOVE getting up there. I supervise of course...
Just a thought!

You should call my friend Alessandro Sanford. His painting company, PNL Painting, also hangs lights during the season. You can reach him at ###-###-####, but he's actually in Olathe. Good luck!

My husband wants to have a professional hang our this year so I started checking into different companies. I found these websites: www.kcxmaslights.com, www.winterilluminations.com, http://lights-express.com/. Hopefully these will be a good starting point for you. I know in the Lee's Summit area there are signs on several corners advertising the service as well.
Hi S.,
I had a professional company put up our Christmas lights 3 years in a row. It was between $750 & $850 each time. Of corsse, the price depends on what you are wanting and the size of your home. For your comparison...our home is a 2-story with 4 2-story columns in front and about 4000 sq. ft. We had them decorate each column in lighted garland, the perimeter of the house, and a lighted wreath in each gable. We had them put them up the day after Thanksgiving and take them down soon after New Years day. They would also come out a replace any bulbs that went out inbetween. They would also store the lights from year to year and give a discount each year after.
I found it expensive but well worth the effortlessness on my part. Plus, my husband travels constantly and with his career, we can't take risk him falling off the roof :) Another plus was the joy on the kids' face every night when they came on.......automatically, might I add :)
However, Sadly, that company went out of business :(
So! I got creative :) I asked a handyman I know if he would do a similar job. No pillars, no wreaths, just the perimeter of the house. He did! And for $150 bucks! Took them down too :)
I had him sign a little contract and away he went. It was still beautiful and the kids were excited. All that really mattered.
I hoped this helped :) Good luck and happy holidays!
