Definitely check the local shelters. When we lived in north Allen and our dog escaped our backyard, we found he had been picked up and placed in a shelter in south Plano!
Our golden retriever escaped out of the backyard b/c the cleaning lady didnt close it correctly. I always let him in when I get home and today when I went to open the back door, he wasn't there. That's when I noticed the back gate FULLY ajar. He has been gone all day. His 2 yr old owner misses him. :(
I've just posted ads on craigslist and backpage. Tmrw I'll put flyers around the neighborhood. Does anyone have anyother suggestions on how we can find him?? His collar did not have an ID tag. He's only 7 mo old and show quality. What if someone decides to keep him!!!?! HELP!!
We got him back!!! :-)

Maybe petfinder.com? Also check the neighborhood schools. Put fliers around parks and schools, leaving out the show dog aspect as this will not help them feel sorry for you,but your chld missing the dog will. Good luck
Once you get him back, I suggest you, and everyone reading this, go and microchip your dogs. It isn't that expensive and it could mean the difference of getting your pup back one day.
Make sure you contact Collin County Animal Services as this is who picks up dogs in this area.
Good luck,
A.
Try contacting your neighborhood association. I would also contact the area pounds/humane societies. Many of them will allow you to register your lost dog on their website and/or with them. We learned the hard way when we lost out kitten. Good luck!
Call AND visit all the shelters, both city and county within several miles. Sometimes if you just call, the person answering the phone doesn't always care enough to know all the dogs that came in so it is important to visit also. Once you have been in at least once, call DAILY! They rarely have the resources to cross check their dogs with lost animal reports. It is also important to call and go to shelters operated by surrounding cities in case the dog was picked up over a city line. Sometimes too, a "good samaritan" may have picked up your dog and driven him to a shelter near their home - again that may or may not be the one closest to you. You could also contact area vets to see if anything may have happened to him and someone took him to get help - see if they will let you post signs in their offices. Also, contact any local dog walkers in your neighborhood. They tend to attract lost dogs on their walks and may have seen him somewhere. They're usually willing to help because they are dog lovers anyway. Good luck. I pray you find him safe and healthy soon.
oh my gosh. i'm so sorry.
do you have an online community board? maybe post there he's gone? comb you neihborhood. ask you neighbors.
dang it's so cold out now.
i hope you find him, if not i hope someone takes him in from the cold. check maybe your neighborhood vet. maybe someone brought him in there to check for id chips.
