Hi! Would love to find a very good orthodontist for my slightly crooked teeth. Wore them when I was a teenager but unfortunately was not instructed to keep wearing the retainer for life. Ready to try again but this time do not have dental insurance so would like to keep the costs down as much as possible. Am interested in whatever treatment will work and be as unnoticeable as possible. :)

What can I do next?

I had braces (for the first time) at 27 and I really liked my orthodontist, Dr. Hilton Goldreich. He's at the corner of Independence and Legacy in Plano. I got them off 4 years ago and at that time he was doing Invisalyn and a bunch of other techniques than just the standard metal braces. He has a payment plan and even though most of the clients are kids, I didn't feel out of place. I generally always had the same tech and always saw Dr. Goldreich which I really appreciated. I guess some doctors let the techs do everything, but he did most of the adjustments himself. His phone number is ###-###-####. He told me I would be in braces for 18-20 months and they were off in 13! Good luck!

Hi J., I have a similar situation to yours. I had braces as a teenager, but age will cause the teeth to shift. I recommend Dr. Nicole Sivie in Plano. She is a partner in Williams & Sivie. Their office is on Coit Road just south of Springcreek (east side). I will start Invisiline next month. She is very conservative and my concerns were addressed. Moving Adult teeth too fast can bring shortened roots and many serious consequences down the line. Whomever you choose, do your homework and learn as much as you can before committing. Good luck!

I'm currently doing Invisalign (I'm half-way through my treatment) and LOVE it! No one knows I'm wearing braces and they are a lot easier on my teeth than traditional braces. My dentist/orthodontist is Dr. Andy Chang in Richardson (not far from Central Expwy & Arapaho on Floyd Rd.) I HIGHLY recommend him & his colleagues (Dr. Duraini is actually the one helping me through my Invisalign treatment.) The treatment was a little over $4,000 for me, but Dr. Chang's office accepts Care Credit (which is a payment plan you can get to reduce your treatment to easier monthly expenses).

I had braces when I was 30 and I used Dr. Cindy Woodson in West Plano. My mom had worked in the Dental and orthodontic industry for years so I was really picky when I picked an orthodontist and I went to several before I decided on one. The consultations are usually free. She was the most reasonably priced and she was really good as well as had a WONDERFUL personality. It was a very pleasant experience. I was even pregnant at the time! Good luck!

J., I suggest you contact Dr. Bryan Elvebak. He has helped us with braces, as well as MANY friends and neighbors, including some of my mom-friends. He and his staff are wonderful. He has two or three locations where you can go but the closest to us is on the north side of Willow Bend Mall. Here's his number--I predict you will love him. ###-###-####

Good luck--and feel free to write to me if you would like to know more about why we like him so much.

I would strongly suggest Dr. Jay Ghosh in Allen. He is a fantastic orthodontist and his prices always come in cheaper than everyone else. We just went through the process with my daughter and his price was $500 lower than the other orthodontist we checked with. We already had experience with him when my son has his work done a few years ago. I'm pleasantly surprised to get such good quality care at a lower price.
His number is ###-###-#### and it is called Creekview Orthodontics.

I highly recommend Dr. Eric Hibbs at Park Cities Dental, near the Tollway and Lovers. We have been going to him for many years, and he did a wonderful job on my formerly messed-up mouth. I hadn't been to a dentist in 15 years before my wife finally made me do it, but he did what was necesary: pulled wisdom teeth, straightened my teeth and bite with braces, and then set in a very nice set of veneers to fill the gaps in my smile. All the time, they were so nice and professional. He is not "stuffy" at all. Their number is 214-DEN-TIST.

More kudos for Dr. Jay Ghosh in Allen. He let us pay for my son's braces on a 24 month payment plan, which helped us a lot, and my son's teeth turned out great!
