Orkin- About Pest Control

Please stop the Orkin man and all other pesticides. The father of my children was a pesticide researcher. He came home with the powder on his clothes all the time. He worked for Ortho Chemical. One year all the scientists in his division could not stop bleeding from a simple blood test. That same year the blood of our 8 year old took up to half an hour to coagulate from simple cuts. She was 16 years old before her blood coagulated properly.
He would not leave the job and we divorced in part over it.
Pesticide in the home is the number one reason for childhood leukemia.

Definitely have the manager treat all the apartments that share a wall, ceiling, floor with yours. If you dont do them all at the same time they just run to the next place.
Also, if I were you, I'd try pouring lines of borax in place where you know you kids and pets wont get to it, like behind the fridge and stove. Many times the roaches live in the back of the fridge... they love it there because it's warm and moist.
It is also important that you dont have anything in your home to attract roaches, they like water and food. If things are clean they wont want to stay.
Rain also makes roaches abundent, and if you have any holes in your walls or foundation, they will come in to check things out. Look at the plumbing under your sinks, if there is space between the pipes and walls you need to duct tape them up so the roaches cant get in.

I don't know, but you've identified the problem with untreated apartments and too much pesticide. I'd call the Dept. of Public Health in your city and complain. It's time to get some muscle behind your complaints to the manager.

We get Orkin treatments every 2 mos, and we always see bugs between then. I've just gotten used to living with spiders. :(

I'm not sure that it can ever be a long term fix.
But I'd expect to be bug free for a couple of weeks after a treatment. Not much after that.
