I used to use the PMS one mentioned by another poster. It worked really great for a couple of months and then it quit working. When I went to see my naturopathic dr, she filled me in on why this happens. She said at first your body likes it and it does give you that boost, but then your body decides that it doesn't need to do its job anymore since you're using something else as a crutch. Same thing happens with birth control pills. All of these things really mess with your hormones and your body's ability to balance hormones properly. My doc uses herbs to help balance the hormones naturally. She's also a nutritionist so she also will probably really look at what you're eating. She's in Southlake and her info is below:

Don't self diagnose or self medicate female hormones, you need the testing, advice and guidance of an MD/Naturapathic doc. I've been dealing with female hormone imbalance issues for over 40 years with no relief from over-the-counter self-medicating, plus developed some dangerous side effects, until I found a doc that was both MD and Naturapath. My doc did all the proper tests and then ordered a custom compounded pharmacuetical hormone cream with the precise blend of Progesterone, Estriol and Testosterone for my individual needs. The female hormones are not something to play with, you MUST have educated, experienced medical guidance and regular follow-up so as to not cause harm to the natural function of your body. The female hormones RULE our lives. Our specific needs change as we age, and also vary with changing environment, work, stress, diet and overall health status. Dr. Suzanne Mack or Dr. Linda Yeatts, both in Denton, are excellent MD/Naturapathic docs that I can whole-heartedly recommend and that I credit for giving me my life back. Please remember, we are all different and there is no "one size fits all." Good luck. (^_~)

Before I got pregnant I used one called Awakening Woman Restore Balance Cream. You can check it out here: http://www.altmednetwork.net/more_progesterone_cream.html

It's not synthetic, but it's also not wild yam, either. I felt it really helped with my PMS symptoms and I think it may have helped me get pregnant after a 1st trimester miscarriage. My mother also uses it for perimenopause issues. There are directions on the bottle on how to use it based on your situation. It has a calibrated pump so you get exactly the right amount. It's approximately $20/month to use, if you buy 2 bottles at a time. ($22 for 1)

Their website also has some good info. You could also check out Dr. Lee (google him). good luck!

I'm surprised your doctor did not recommend one. You should first check with them. Abrams Royal Pharmacy has a terrific one that is over the counter. It's called PMS ( as it is used for all sorts of symptoms).

Arbonne makes a great one. I don't remember what it was called, but it is the one made for Post-Menopausal women.

Also, if you are looking to treat this problem naturally, I would see a chiropractor who deals with nutrition. I had (have) this problem myself and was unable to conceive children because of it, but with my chiro's help, I now have two beautiful children.

I second the person who recommends seeing a doctor. I just heard a lecture by Dr. Karen Birdy all about hormones and she works with ReCept Pharmacy.

You can reach Dr. Birdy at ###-###-####. She will make sure you get the proper dose. Without the proper does you really won't get full relief from symptoms, which you deserve!!

You can learn about ReCept Pharmacy at http://www.receptrx.com/
