I travel alot and usually can find some great deals. i just found a hotel for 400.00 less. after searching for several days and all. it is worth it.
I've used Orbitz for many years and prefer it. I always do price comparisons and they are almost always the cheapest. Never had any problems booking or anything. Have taken 3 trips in 12 months and about to take another and have used Orbitz every time.

Personally, I do not use any of the online travel sites.
I specifically use my airline website American or Southwest and directly book with the hotels, usually Hiltons or Marriotts.
I just booked a trip to SanDestin in August this way. Out of curiousity, I checked expedia.com to see if I could have done better and it was a wash. Actually, I came out better because by using the air, hotel and rental car sites, I keep the benefits of getting points and other deals available.
Good luck whatever you choose. I know everyone is different and has opinions on travel sites. We travel a lot and I do all of our booking this way. I will probably use some help next year because we are planning a tour of Italy and I need more detailed information so we don't miss anything.

I've used Orbitz several times. I've never had any problems. I've gotten air/hotel/car packages and just air. I didn't get the insurance though. Make sure if you are considering the insurance that you read through all the exclusions. If you think there is a chance you might have to cancel your trip I would definitely look into it. I can't remember if we used Orbitz or went straight through the airline but last summer my husband and I planned a trip, we did get the insurance and it was a good thing. He ended up getting laid off and we had to cancel. We got all of our money back except for the cost of the insurance. I would recommend Orbitz. They have good prices and it's always the first place I look when planning a trip.
