Ok infomercial Moms, has anyone tried the abb contour sculpting system?
It looks too good to be true and you know the saying but I am desparte to reduce my stomach but have a very sensitive back that causes me fits if I do crunches.
I am intrested to hear the good bad or ugly about this machine before I dial the 1800 number myself.
Thaks, Peggy

Hello
Since this is my specialty I thought I would chime in. I am a personal trainer and am the only person in the state that is "Tupler Technique" and "Diastasis Rehab" certified.

It sounds to me like you may have what is called "The mummy tummy" or a split in your stomach muscles from pregnancy.

There are definitely some things you can do!
Postpartum women be aware that crunches where your shoulders come off the ground can make a diastisis worse (split in your rectus abdominus you get from being pregnant - also called "mummy tummy" - the vertical muscle on either side of your belly button that stretch from the top of the pelvis to the bottom six ribs)

"Crunches" were not designed for pp women - at all! This is why you have struggled with them. They actually make the split in your stomach muscles WORSE!! Also a split in the rectus abdominus can CAUSE or WORSEN a sensative back. The main function of the rectus abdominus is BACK SUPPORT. So if that muscle has a wide split (which happens in 98% of PP women and does not come back together on its own) you will have pain or sensitivity in your lumbar (back) muscles.

Having said that you can adapt many exercises to be suitable for pp and help tone the muscles, and close the diastisis.

There are many specific exercises you can do. "Lose your Mummy Tummy" is a great book you can get from Amazon.com. If you prefer a group or personal instruction, I am a certified PErsonal Trainer and Tupler Technique/Diastasis Rehab specialist. www.diastasisrehab.com
I teach classes in 3 locations and can do personal or group sessions in the home.

One last thing I tell my clients for great abs - AVOID THE FIVE WHITES!!!
White Flour
White Sugar
White Potatoes
White Pasta
White Rice

Feel free to call me with any questions. My cell is ###-###-####

Hi P. M., I purchased the trial offer ($14.95). You could certainly feel the pounding, pulling tugging...whatever the electriods were meant to do... The only thing I didin't like was that you had to attach gel pads to the belt, and when it came time to take the belt off, you have to take care because the get pads would have the tendency to stick to your skin. You then had to place the platic cover back on the gel pads to keep dust and dirst from accumulating on them. So it was not as cut and dry as putting the belt on and starting the control. I retuined mine before the trial period and called contacted BBB because they didn't want to refund my money. And keep in mind that you will always have to purchase additional gel pads. I hope this helps.

I work out 5-7 times a week. Like you glutes, your abs are a body weight, diet and genetics think. MR says it all, for sure! Save your money, for sure and get determined. Enjoy getting there!

Don't buy those quick fix apparatuses, they are a waste of money. The only way to loose the belly is by eating right & exercise. Join a gym & work with a personal trainer twice a week for at least 1 month. Once they get you started on a routine you can work on your own. A good trainer will show you how to strengthen your weak areas without causing injury to other areas. It's worth the investment.

check out infommercialreviews.com People post a review of the product after they buy it. My husband falls for infommercials and I have found it helpful to decide what to return.

Save your money! You can get fantastic abs by adopting a 'clean eating diet', watching your caloric and nutritional intake, and any sort of exercise you can do to sculpt the abs can be done with no equipment but your own body weight and gravity.

Diet and cardio are the most important factors (well, other than genetics) that determine whether or not you get a six pack. You can do crunches til the cows come home, either on the floor or using the ab contour system, but if your nutrition isn't superior and you don't do any cardio, those perfect abs will always be well-protected under a layer of abdominal fat.

Hi P., save your money. I tried it and you can feel the little shocks but after 3 weeks I didn't notice anything. Sent it back and it took forever to get a letter from them that they recieved it back. Plus you had to keep buying the gel pads. They only lasted for 30 days. Good luck with the tummy loss. I to struggle with it. C.

Hi Peggy,

I'm also a personal trainer and perinatal fitness specialist. I just read Bonnie's post and 'ditto' everything she has said. I also had a diastisis and rehabbed it following advice similar to the Tupler Technique. Don't waste your money on the gadgets...there is no miracle machine out there that can do the trick! Again, Bonnie's advice is spot on!
