Opinions on Outside Activities for 12 Month Old

I work full time (sometimes from home) and would like to do either Kindermusik, Little Gym, or some activity with her in the evenings or weekends. She is very active, and I think would benefit from outside interaction - as we have a sitter some to the house while I work. Any thoughts/ experiences with either would be helpful! Thanks!!

What can I do next?

We do Kindermusik and love it! Depending on where you go, it can be pricey so I may wait until she's 18 months to enroll in that. (They begin a new class at 18 months and I think she'd get more out of that than the baby class.) My daughter has done Kindermusik since she was 17 months old and loves it. It's easy for parents, too! Adults don't have to mingle unless they choose to because we all stay busy for the entire 45 minutes.

We also do the toddler gymnastics at the YMCA. She enjoys that and the kids are free to explore in the gymnasium with lots of equipment.

Playgroups are great, too, but I had a harder time getting hooked up with them. Library storytimes can be good, too (if you can find one that is on the weekends).

Good luck! I know this can be challenging, especially when you work! She's still young enough that if she's not getting that much interaction with other children, she'll be fine! :)

I would absolutely recommend Little Gym. I put my 2 year old son in it and he loved it. My daughter who was under a year at the time would visit and I will now be enrolling her in January as she loved it more than my son - if that was possible. It was a great time for the kids and something to do in the winters when activity is limited.

Enroll her in a playgroup.
I don't know where you live but they have a Gymboree in our area and they have a mommy and me class. They Y have a gym also.

I'm not sure where you're located. But I take my 13 month old to Little Gym. I'm a stay at home mom though, during the week. So I like getting out of the house too. If she is very active, it's a great place for kids to release energy and learn new things. The teachers are great, and right now its parent interactive class. So I think it is good for us, eventhough, it is expensive. We go to the Tuesday class at 5:30 for 10- 18month olds. You can always check out a trial class for free, just give them a call.
