I really like using Picasa http://picasa.google.com/
It is a google product, a few years back they acquired the company because their goal was to be the best at data collection and organization. Since photos are data, they bought Picasa. Best yet... it is FREE. I use it to organize my digital photos on my computer and it is very user friendly. You can easily create albums, upload, and invite people to view your albums (or make them visible to the world - which is a bad idea!!)
Your family and friends can either just view the pictures online, download them, or order them. If you order them on line you can choose from: Photoworks, Walgreens, Snapfish, or Shutterfly. I've used all but Photoworks... they are all good and with Walgreens you have the option of sending it to a local store so it is quicker and no shipping. If you download it, Picasa has a lot more options of where you can send it, or if they use another photo organizer, you can send it wherever they want. My local favorites are Walmart, Sam's or Costco - I can't remember if they are included or not, if a company is not included, simply 'export' your selected photos in to a folder, print, and once you're done delete the folder since you have a copy still in Picasa.
