We also use the Dr. Sears chewy DHA vitamins and my child really likes them. Bought them off Amazon.
Hi Everyone, I have been trying to find a supplement that my children would not mind taking. They take the gummies multivitamin which they dont mind at all. Cant seem to find one for Omega that they can tolerate the taste. Any suggestions would be helpful. Also, has anyone noticed a difference in using these and attention? Thanks, H.
Hi everyone, thamks for your responses. So i did take my kids to whole foods and they let them try out a few different ones. We wemt with the dolphin gummies that are great and no after taste...my kids prefer them to their regular vitamins. thanks for helping out...really appreciate it!

Nordic Naturals, Children's DHA strawberry gels. The kids gobble em up like candy and they are the most tested and purest of the brands. 2 in the am and 2 in the pm with food.
Nordic Natural has a good one that my kids like. We buy the nordic berries and fish oil "balls".
Carlson lemon flavored works best for us. Even my 2.5 year old loves it - she calls it Mmmmmm Lemons! You can get it on Amazon for half the price of Whole Foods.
Btw a cup of Quinoa is NOT equal to a quart of milk in calcium! A cup of quinoa provides about 102 milligrams, and a CUP of milk provides 300 milligrams. Sheesh!
My son takes Carlson brand fish oil caps. This brand regularly tests clear of heavy metals. He just chews the capusle up like it is gum, then spits the capsule out. He loves them! But he may be used to the taste because I have been puting fish oil in his milk since he was a baby. It also comes in a liquid if you prefer that.
If you go to any Whole Foods or natural food store, they will give you samples to take home and try. They are also VERY helpful, about telling you about kids supplements....
Just seeing your question and wanted to respond. If your looking for something to help with your child's attention and focus try Source Naturals Attentive child. They are chewable wafers and don't taste bad. My 7 year old was struggling staying focused in 1st grade and not able to finish classwork everyday. He's not hyperactive by and means. He's real laid back, but was just having problems staying on track with what he was supposed to be doing in class. It's taken a few months but he has finally started improving in class going from D's and F's to B's and C's. My 5 year old, who is in kindergarten and a little hyperactive, also takes them. I've tried the Nordic Naturals 3.6.9 Lemon capsules, but kids would not swallow them and didn't like to chew them up, they said it has a fishy taste. They also did not like Lil Critters Omega-3 Gummy Fish. Hope any of this helps.
the problem with most kids vitamins is they are filled with sugar which then robs the body of minerals and other vitamins. Totally NOT healthy.
Omega 3,6 and 9 can be found in hemp milk (found in Whole Foods) or hemp seeds or hemp oil. Omega 3 and 6 can be found in chia seeds but they have to be ground. These can be ground up with some fresh flax seeds for a more nutty flavor to sprinkle in a smoothie or over pasta or even in a salad. My daughter loves the taste of fresh brown rice with some olive oil and hemp seeds on top. Really great. If you want, use quinoa instead and get a ton of protein and calcium.
One cup of cooked quinoa has the calcium content equal to that of a quart of milk, but because it is from a plant source it is more easily absorbed and believed to be better quality. Quinoa is a very good source of manganese as well as a good source of magnesium, iron, copper and phosphorus.
Quinoa is high in minerals and B vitamins, especially vitamin B6. Two ounces of cooked quinoa offers 14% of the RDA for B6. Niacin, one of the B vitamins usually measured in trace quantities, totals 2.49 mg, a figure considered impressive when it comes to the B vitamins.
Hi - I know you've already gotten several answers, but I still wanted to add my 2cents. My daughter takes the Lil Critter Omega-3 Gummy Fish and LOVES them. I think if your children already take gummies multivitamins, they'll like these as well. They sell them at Target. About $10 for 120.
Pretty funny - I just posted this to a woman asking about vitamins. I took my son to the store hoping to find some chewable or gummy version that he liked; the woman there let him taste test a few different versions of liquid fish oil, and the two he found the tastiest were the lemon and the mango peach. Both of my kids LOVE this stuff. They actually lick the spoon CLEAN. I've tried these myself, and the mango peach is really fantastic (the lemon can have a little of the old cod liver oil aftertaste).
I definitely feel there is a difference in the number and severity of colds this winter vs last. Would heartily recommend.
Try: barleans fish oil. They have a kids line, but we use the regular adult version and just give them half a dose.
Dr. Sears has a line of supplements, including Omega-3 chews in different fruit flavors - we have the strawberry and I even eat them! One daughter loves them, the other doesn't...I need to try another flavor for her...a great option for kids, though -- here's a link to purchase or read more:

Not all omega 3 fish oil supplements are created the same. You do not want to give your child a supplement that is made from fish that are high in mercury. Our family likes Nordic Naturals 3-6-9 Jr. gel caps (lemon flavored) that can either be swallowed or broken open and mixed will some apple sauce. They also have DHA Jr. capsules that are strawberry flavored.
Omega 3 supplementation for children with attentional issues is not a quick fix and sometimes is only part of the equation for children who have nutritional deficiencies. Look at what your children are eating. If they are eating a lot of processed foods, a lot of preservatives, artificial colors and artificial flavorings or sweetners, you will probably actually see a quicker turn around in behavior if you were to switch your diet to a more whole foods menu. You can't go wrong with fruits and vegetables in their natural state and whole grains.
Hope this helps.
I found a chewable omega 3 supplement for my son at walmart. It is right near the gummy vitamins. After he was taking them for a couple of weeks I noticed that his skin was much less dry than before. He loves taking them! I keep them in the fridge to help keep them fresh. After he takes his gummy vitamin he always goes to the fridge to ask for his "other" vitamin.
a healthy balance of Omega 3, 6, and 9 definitely supports cognitive functioning... avoiding refined fats/oils is helpful as is using supplements like fish oil and flax seed oil. I myself prefer to use spirulina/blue green algae as an Omega 3 source (also flax, chia, and hemp seeds). You can find whole food powders that are full of the omega 3 fatty acids which could be mixed in smoothies. I like the Olympian labs protein + greens powder. The quality of fish oil supplements varies a lot and some people are saying krill oil is much better, so maybe alternatives to fish oil will do the trick.
I've done a lot of research on this, and the best supplement I've found is Carlson lemon flavored cod liver oil. My 5 year old loves it and asks for a spoonful every morning. It really doesn't taste bad at all! I order mine from vitacost.com, where it's about half the price of Whole Foods. Cheers to you for doing good things for your childs health!
