Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to these questions... When the OCM has a "special exhibit" that requires an admission cost, is that cost REQUIRED in addition to the regular admission? (i.e. Can you go to the museum and CHOOSE not to pay/not to go into the "special exhibit"?)

Also, when you have a BOGO coupon that is not good for "special exhibits", does that apply to only the *extra* fee, or the entire (regular + "special" fee? I'm planning to take my 2 boys to the museum and have a BOGO coupon. I checked online and they have a Sesame Street exhibit that requires a $4.00 fee in addition to the $7 admission price. My question is how much will I be paying? Will I be allowed to use the coupon at all, even if it means just getting the price of one ($7) admission cost for free...or will I be paying the full $33 (3 X $11) cost?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

The boys and I went today and had a blast! Everyone was correct--they asked if we wanted to do the Sesame Street exhibit when we paid for our regular admission. I decline and was able to use the coupon so the total for 3 was $14! Thanks Moms for the help! I wanted to go first thing this AM so I didn't have time to call, but grateful for all the wise Mamas out there ;).

Hi S.!
You do not have to purchase the Sesame Street exhibit. If there are 3 of you going, you'll pay $14 with your coupon. If you want the exhibit it would be an extra $12! I've been several times with my 2 year old and we have a membershib so the exhibit is free. It is worth it to go up for when it's included in the membership, but I don't think it would be worth an extra $12 to go up there. It's on the top floor, so your kids wouldn't even know its there if you don't want to pay the extra.
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

I would call them to confirm but i don't think you have to pay the extra fee. They normally do the extra exhibits on the second floor so you don't have to go up there and they can regulate who goes up there.

I don't think that you have to pay for the special exhibit if you choose not to see it. I have a membership, so I haven't ever paid for an individual visit, but I think that they give everyone who is allowed to see the special exhibit a hand stamp when they enter. The special exhibits are upstairs, and I have always had to show my hand stamp before entering. So I think that it is an optional fee. As for the BOGO coupon...I would call to check, but I would think that you could still use it for your admission to the museum. You would just still have to pay the "extra" fee for everyone if you choose to see the upstairs exhibit.

Hi S.

I'm not a member. When we go there, we pay the entrance fee. If we decide to go to the special exhibit, we pay a separate fee for that.
I've never used a coupon, you would need to call and ask them about that.

It's the same for all of Omaha's museums. You will pay your entrance fee, then you can use your coupon as long as you meet the terms and conditions. If you want to go see the seasame street exhibit it is seperate and seperated so to speak. You'll pay the fee for all people there. But you can choose to go or not go. It isn't required.
