Ok to Take Out of Packaging .....raffle Basket Dilemma

Ok I need to put together some donated items to make a raffle basket. One of the items is a toy flute. The packaging is big and I can't find a place to put it that looks right. But would it be gross if I take it out of the packaging. I'm not going to blow it but if somefamily wins this basket, do you think they would notice or care????
There are 2 other things that are packaged and 2 types of bubbles that aren't.
I was also told not to wrap it in cello but I feel like I should.

So unpackage the flute?? Or NOTMM
And cellophane the whole deal or NOT???

Thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I couldn't tell if the woman in charge just wanted to add items rearrange etc or if she was concerned that the cello would get damaged because she will be trans porting. I guess I'll try to cut the packaging. I probaby would never question it being unwrapped. But because I was the one putting it in I did question it. So I will go w majority. Tx

You can wrap it in Tulle or wide Netting. You can find this at the craft store.

We make a typed out list of every item included in the basket.. we also add the value of the whole basket.

I would try to keep it packaged if at all possible. It's lets everyone know that it is new and clean and ready to go - otherwise I might be a bit skeptical.....

Can you tie the package to the basket with raffia? As the recipient, I would care more about the newness/cleanliness of the item, than the attractiveness of the basket...

Can you cut off some of the packaging around the edges?

Keep it in the package. I wouldn't use it if it wasn't. As for wrapping, yes use the cellophane over the whole basket--but just use a clear one so they can see what is in it. Good luck!

Can you trim the packaging down? Simply cut around it to make it more manageable, but also keep it packaged to prove it's new? I'd be leery of a an unwrapped whistle.

We were asked to wrap our baskets in clear wrapping paper for our school fundraiser. The concern was the basket being picked apart by curious bidders or unobserved kids. If it is wrapped up, you don't have to worry too much about it being plundered.

It wouldn't be a big deal to me for it to be unpackaged. Many stores sell unpackaged toy flutes (Target dollar area, Dollar Tree, etc...). If the person who wins it wants to they can always wash it.
As far as the cello - if you were instructed not to wrap it, then I wouldn't.

Leave the flute in the package. I would toss it if I received it unpackaged.

I'm queen of raffles. I love putting them together, bidding on them, buying tickets for them, and so on! I am always more attracted to stuff in the original packaging. I'm not left wondering if the item was recycled. The no cello request is probably so they can tuck in other misc items as stuff comes in. Or rearrange baskets so the items are better displayed.

Just do your best and be content knowing you are helping out!

Keep it in the package and go ahead and wrap the basket - why would they not want you to?

Can it be attached to the outside of the basket? I'm making raffle baskets for the first time this week and am fortunate to have another woman helping that used to do this as part of her job for years. It wouldn't have occurred to me to put stuff on the outside, had she not shown me.

Alternately, use a different container.

Don't unpackage the flute, don't wrap it since you were specifically told not to wrap it.

I would ask the person in charge about not wrapping in cellophane? like why not and if you could in clear. also you might be able to find a nice fabric netting that would be the alternative to wrapping it. idk perhaps some bidders cannot see well? or it was mistaken for a bag of trash or donated baskets werent visable with darker or colored cellophane? perhaps its kinda on the tacky side? idk find out

as far as the flute i liked the other suggeston of placing it on the outside of the basket. you might be able to pull a string through the box end to end and hang it that way. also look up gift basket ideas on pinterest.
