Odyssey Dinner Cruise Chicago

Hello Everyone!

I was wondering if any of you have ever been on a dinner cruise aboard The Odyssey in Chicago.
I want to do something fun for my birthday and have always thought this would be a blast.

BUT...there is one teensy little problem....I get motion sickness. What if I get sick? How embarrassing! Obviously, the boat will not pull-over because a mama on board gets seasick. I know I could take Dramamine...I always do but it makes me so darn tired. It's my birthday and want to have fun. I could always do something else, but I think this would be fun because you get dinner & there's entertainment.

So, is there anyone out there who has gone on the cruise & could tell me about your experience?

Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I didn't think you could even feel the boat moving. It was a calm evening and we enjoyed the cruise

Went a few weeks ago. Ended up extending our Chicago visit due to
hurricane Irene. I loved it. You do not really feel the boat moving. I think it
is a great way t spend your birthday. A good reason to get dressed up.
I say go for it. Have a very Happy Birthday.

I've been on the Odyssey Cruise 2 times. Once when we got engaged and another time for work. The 1st time the water was rough so the boat stayed inside the wake so it wasn't bad at all. I have gotten sick on boats before and did not get sick either time I went.
Have you ever tried using those little wrist bands for motion sickness?
Anyway the cruise is nice. It's like going to a wedding with a nice dinner and dancing. I've enjoyed it. I don't remember dancing the time I went for work but I remember there were fireworks and that was really cool.

I have been on it and I get SOOO motion sick. It was fine. The boat is so big you really don't even realize you are moving. I say go for it. The food was great and the fireworks were even better!!! Enjoy it!!!

I did the dinner cruise on the Odyssey last year for a friend's birthday. It was a calm night and I didn't see a single person have any problems. However, I was on another Navy Pier dinner cruise a few years ago and it was extremely windy and a ton of people were sick. So it really depends on the weather. As for the Odyssey itself, it was a nice, different experience. But you do need to know that the live music is budget at best. My friends and I had really looked forward to dancing it just wasn't a good time because the music was so bad. Also, it was cost prohibitive for quite a few people.

They also have a non-drowsy formula if you want to take the Dramamine.

Just an aside, they do discount these cruises on restaurant.com-right now the certificates are 80% off today with the codeword - save. I think the sale is over today though and not for sure it is the Odyssey cruises but check it out. You can get a $100 certificate for like $8.
