Wondering if anyone has had experience with any of these OBGYN’s and if so, what is your opinion of them.
Sherri Meredith, Lawrence Pierce , Aliza Chkaiban, Sara Robert , or Heather Sloan
Any other suggestions would be welcome too – I prefer a female Dr. and am planning on delivering at Presby. Allen. Thank you!

Dr. Meredith assisted with my c-section at presby allen 3 mos ago. She seemed very nice--personable, good sense of humor, made an effort to make me feel comfortable and even answer my questions on the operating table. Her partner, Dr. Luciani (male) has been my OB for 3 pregnancies (1 emergency c-section, one miscarriage with complications, 1 planned c-section). He is FANTASTIC. LOVE LOVE LOVE him. Their practice is great. Dr. Luciani is there for you when you need him--came in for my first delivery even when he wasn't on call. Talked to me on the phone over the weekend through my miscarriage, again even tho he wasn't on call. Can't say enough good about him. If you prefer a female, I'd definitely give Dr. Meredith a try.

Also had a great experience at presby allen (was at mckinney for my 1st--just fine, but liked allen better).

I have been going to Craig Ranch OBGYN (which has two of the doctors you mentioned) for 5 years now and really like the office. I am actually delivering with Dr. Roberts on Wednesday at Presby Allen. I LOVE Dr. Roberts she is so sweet and will spend all of the time in the world with you. Dr. Sloan is good too, she is also very sweet I just have more experience with Roberts.

Craig Ranch also has a wonderful OB coordinator, Carolyn. Good luck wherever you go!

I saw Aliza Chkaibe with my first son and through a little over half of my last pregnancy. She really takes the time to talk to you and explain things to you. She was great with the delivery of my son. She was there quite a bit before I delivered supporting me in any way I needed, that is what most midwifes do, not like doctors who just come in and out. She also did great at explaining things after I delivered explaining the type of tear I had and what she did to close it. She left the Craig Ranch practice and I saw all the doctors there multiple times. If you go with the Craig Ranch practice, do know that who ever is on call the day when you go into labor will deliver your baby and that could be Dr Andrew Shimer unless it is a scheduled C-section/ induction. If you use a Midwife they usually will be the one that delivers your baby. If you want to go all natural, I would go with a midwife. If that is not a priority then any of the female doctors at Craig Ranch would do. Sara Robert's if very friendly, just a little hyper in my opinion :) Heather Sloan also good, she delivered my daughter 12 days ago. When comparing Aliza and Heather, Aliza asked if I was okay with her breaking my water and Heather came in and said I will be breaking your water now. When I asked Heather what type of tear I had she answered "where everyone usually tears", not really answering my question. I delivered both of my children and Allen and I loved all the staff I came in contact with. They were all very friendly and helpful.

I only went once to Dr. Pierce and was shocked at how rude and impersonable they were to me on my FIRST visit. I went right down the hall to Dr. Rajala and LOVED him and all of his staff. Dr. Rajala was even able to handle unforeseen complications that made my pregnancy high risk. He and his staff have great bedside personalities as well. I was actually kind of sad to say goodbye lol.

Dr Pierce was my doctor when I was pregnant in 2003. I was suppose to deliver at presby allen. I went into labor 3 days early and Dr Pierce was on vacation. He had an on call doctor that was suppose to deliver my baby. He told me to come to hospital so they can monitor me. They did that for 5hrs and sent me home on ambien and demarol and said I wasnt in true labor...becuz I had stayed at 2cm for 5hrs and they were 5minutes apart. I go home all doped up and I end up having my baby in my bathroom an hour 1/2 later after leaving the hospital. It was a total mess...so if you go through Dr Pierce, make sure you never have to deal with Dr Weiss. I dont recommend Allen Hospital to anyone...My ob/gyn is Jenelle Watts and she works out of Medical Center of Plano and Plano Presby.

Dr. Pierce delivered my baby as a result of an emergency transfer from the Allen Birth Center (I'm an all natural mama). His manner was a little gruff, but he finally gave in to me telling him no drugs (he thought I was crazy). It all worked out in the end but I would not chose him as my primary OB. My husband didn't like him much. He was not gentle with me after baby was delivered, but perhaps he is used to everybody being numb. If you are considering midwives as an alternative, the ladies at the Allen Birth Center are wonderful, and cost effective :) I didn't have any complaints about the THR Allen hospital though, the were fine. Good luck!

I am currently PG, and Heather Sloan is delivering my baby in September.. I LOVE her... I will be delivering at Presby Allen as well. If you go to Craig Ranch OBGYN, it is a group practice and several times you would see another Dr. as well.. but you have a choice. I really like Sara Robert there as well. As stated below the OB Nurse Carolyn is awesome there too.
They have the latest and greatest technology.. and are very quick to get you in appointments.. I failed my 1 hr glucose test yesterday, and am going in this morning for the repeat test. They also bought one of the 3D/4D sono machines, so I am getting one of those done this afternoon. When I was spotting early in the pregnancy, they got me in that day for testing.. found out my progesterone was low the following morning, and prescribed something immediately. I love that they are proactice... when reading about low progesterone online.. it looks like most Dr.'s don't automatically test it with spotting, and if you need progesterone and don't get it, a miscarriage can be very likely. Overall I highly recommend either Dr. Sloan or Robert.

Good luck!!
