NYE Kid Party

There will be several kiddos at our NYE get together ranging from ages 5-10. What are some activities that can allow them to have their own little "party" while the adults play games and such? I know that 2 of mine won't make it to midnight but my oldest will and it seems that our friends' kids are able to stay up later than ours. I always have the plan of putting a movie on the big screen when we have people over but it is inevitable that someone else's kids won't want to lay down and then all of the others end up wanting to get up too. So rather than having false expectations I would rather just plan activities for them. Anyone have any cool ideas? Thanks! :))

I actually found this on this site and used it at one of our bday parties. Put small toys, things like stickers, tattoos, etc, inside balloons and then blow them up. The kids have to sit on or otherwise pop the balloons to get the prizes out. We had 15 kids from 2 to 12, everyone loved it.
Scavenger hunt?
Put the Times Square celebration on TV and play spectator Bingo- make up Bingo cards with things like "Pink hat" or "NY Yankees logo" and have the kids watch the crowd for people wearing those items.
Disney trivial pursuit or Pictionary, Cranium Junior
Several jars of Play Dough or modeling clay to build your own Baby New Year

Crafts and a friend just had a party where whoopie cushions were a huge hit with the kids. It was a surprise. Can you fit a bouncy house in your garage?

My daughter is one of those kids who is just not going to be able to sit still for 5 hours of movies. I would suggest early in the evening you get them out in the back yard if yu have one for flash light tag inside the house you can set up the Wii for more moving around. Freeze dance tag where they all bounce a round and then need stay still and whoever stays still longest wins. Once they have exhausted themselves out a bit then put a movie on.

The best time I had at a NYE party with kids was when I went to a friends house and her older niece happened to be over for the night too. She kept all the kids highly entertained and enjoyed it herself. She wasn't doing it for money but I ended up giving her money because how fun it was to be able to have fun with the adults yet have my kids there too. So I'd consider getting someone to help you out with the kids.

Last year we we went to my other friends with a bunch of kids. Wasn't as easy keeping all the kids entertained but we did play a game or two. One thing that helped tremendously was the WII and Just Dance. That entertained all the kids for quite some time. Your right....the kids do not settle down for movies.
