i take a 1/4 cup of flax seed daily, I grind it up in a coffee grinder and either put it in my cereal in the am or in a protein shake mid morning. This will make you bloated and gassy for the first few days, but once it starts working, it's like magic - haha. I also take a stool softener, colace daily (I take between 2-4 depending on if I've gone or not that day). good luck!!

Do you eat fiber?
Have you tried stool softeners?
Do you drink water?
Enough water?
More water?
If you can't go and need to take an enema to go,
you probably need to get your system cleaned out completely
and try a fresh start.
You don't want to be aiming toward a daily OTC item.
You want to be aiming toward natural BMs, without helpers.
Good luck.

Hi A.,

Our family uses a product called Fiberwise. It is natural, it tastes good and it works well. It doesn't create an urgency, simply gets thing moving regularly. Just FYI, the only way a body can be healthy is to go regularly. Regularly is defined as one hour after every meal. Anything less than that can cause toxins to remain in the body, get absorbed into the bloodstream and create havoc. Water is also terribly important but dodge Metamucil and Benefiber. They are not healthy for the digestie tract.

Slippery elm bark is also good. It comes in pill form and I have my 92 year old bedridden dad on it so he won't have difficulty.

Hope this helps.

M.

Metamucil or Benefiber - they are just fiber.
Drink lots of water.
Also it's worth trying acidophilis first -- it regulates the flora in your gut.

You may be dehydrated. How much water (not just fluids) are you taking in per day? It is recommended that one drink 1 oz of water per pound of weight.

Leave a 1.5 liter bottle of water by your bedside overnight. When your eyes open in the morning drink all of the water before getting moving. This will work at getting your body/system moving. Within 10-20 minutes you should be going to the restroom relieving yourself. It also helps to kick start your daily hydration. I do this and it really helps and works.

I also use robin anthony's colon cleanse (2 pill at night before I turn in). These pills are all natural and can be ordered online. I hope this helps. Beano helps with gas. Follow the packaging directions and it is natural too.

Metamucil is a natural regulator. It provides fiber to absorb water. When I've had difficulty with stools I have successfully used Metamucil as have other members of my family. It is extremely important to have enough fiber and enough water in your daily diet so that you can have regular bowel movements.

Foods to avoid are bananas, milk and dairy products.

If you haven't seen a doctor about chronic constipation, I suggest that you do that, too. There are medical conditions that need to be corrected that could be causing your constipation.

Colace or Miralax work well. But drinking more water, having a high fiber cereal in the AM, and then again with some yogurt before bed works for me:)

Colace stool softener is safe for every day. I give my 7 year old Kondremul (which is flavored mineral oil) .I mix that with chocolate milk and it's very gentle and safe. Miralax can be very strong, but these 2 are gentle. Try and drink lots of liquid too. Good luck!

You could try making a smoothie with Psyllium Husks for the fiber. But whatever you do, be careful. Taking measures to increase "going" could lead to low possasium levels, which can be dangerous.

I take a Fiber Choice orange tablet and a stool softener once a day. That seems to do the trick.(When I remember.) Good luck.

I find a tablespoon of whole flaxseeds does the trick. Just take a tablespoon with a big glass of water - up to 3 times a day until things get moving. It's very gentle and adds omega 3 to your diet as well!
