A.H.
Don't know if Netflix will have them, but two movies I like are Run, Lola, Run and Bubba Ho-Tep. Both are a little quirky, but really good!
So I just signed up for Netflix. I don't have regular tv right now. Curious what your number 1 movie is. Or you could tell me your top 5 if you want. Y'all likely have a list of movies I've never seen that I need to add to my Netflix Queue.
Mine?
-Man on Fire - LOVE it
-Gran Turino - his one-liners are great.
-Willow - have loved it since I was little.
Plenty of others I like too. This are the first to come to my sleepy mind.
@Cupcake: I've never seen any of yours. THANK YOU!
@Beth: I liked Step Brothers too!
@everyone: Y'all have great lists. Probably half of what y'all listed I've seen and most I've liked (Amiele, Reservior Dogs, Boondock Saints I loved too, I actually liked the Kill Bills) Half I haven't seen and some I haven't heard of. Some are already in my Queue (Adjustment Bureau) , some I just added (King of New York, Red, others.), and some I cannot add b/c I am not a fan of horror flicks (The Mist, The Grudge) Thanks everyone!!

Can I still get a suggestion in? There's a French subtitled movie called Amelie. Now I don't like it to be all hoity-toity on you. I love this movie because it lifts up such wonderful feelings. Joy. Love. Happiness. Friendship. It makes me want to dance.
Shawshank Redemption
Sliding doors
Amelie
are among my all time faves.
Happy watching!
Bad Boys 1 and 2
The Mist
The Grudge
The Expendables
The Proposal
Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, Bourne Ultimatum
TAKEN
CRASH
Live Free or Die Hard (actually all of those Die Hard movies are great)
all of the Fast and Furious movies
Joy Ride
The Three Kings
Friday (all the Friday movies)
Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, The Little Fockers.....
I have a lot of favorites. :-)
Movies are fun on Netflix, but my family and I love the TV shows we've found. Bones, Numbers and Lie to Me are among our top favorites.
Between Netflix and Hulu, who needs regular tv?
Enjoy!
Italian Job
Marley & Me
Adjustment Bureau (this just came out)
Just Like Heaven (one of my all-time favorites)
Ever After
RED (new this year)
I can't think of any more!
LOVED...Gran Torino, Inglorious Basterds (new one), Last of the Mohicans and one I don't normally admit to - Step Brothers...I don't know why, I just love it. We can watch it anytime and laugh from beginning to end.
For DVDs I have:
The Godfather
The Godfather II
The Godfather III
Scarface
and King of New York. :)
**You're welcome!
The Goodbye Girl, the original from 1977 with Richard Dreyfuus is one of my favorite movies. I also like About a Boy with Hugh Grant.
If you are interested in tv shows I love The Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, both are very funny with great characters and witty dialog.
Birdcage with Robin Williams. Makes me laugh every time.
Life is Beautiful. Makes me cry every time.
Slumdog Millionaire was very good.
We also really liked The Hangover.
Netflix will let you search by actor or director. I like all the later Clint Eastwood movies, so when you put in his name, all his movies will come up. Same with Emma Thompson who I like in everything. You can also search by genre, so if you like historic romances, you can click on a category and often sub-categories until you get a list of movies that match.
Additionally, once you start adding movies to you queue, and you rate them after you watch them, the software will come up with a window that will suggest new movies based on your highest rating. It will even show which movie it is similar to (like we suggest abc because you liked xyz). I am considering signing back up now that it is summer. You can put your membership on hold, or cancel it, but your sign in stays the same, so you can turn it back on when you want. Enjoy!
Chariots of Fire (My favorite motivational soundtrack)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Saving Private Ryan
Seabiscuit
Walk the Line
Frequency
Schindler's List
Secretariat
Crash
How to Train Your Dragon
The Adjustment Bureau
Due Date
Sherlock Holmes (with Robert Downey Jr)
Those are the ones I think of. I know there are more and those probably aren't my true top ones
Favorite all time movie is Beaches with Bette Midler! :)
Princess Bride
Platoon
Edward Scissorhands
Pulp Fiction
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
These aren't really my top 5 - I would have to think about that - but are ones I like off the top of my head.
Oh we adore netflix at my house.
My fave movie of all time is on streaming right now, City of Angels
an older movie I still find funny- Arthur
we watch a lot of the tv series stuff, because we are cable free and our antenna does not get the best reception...love anything with Gordon Ramsey and the Nanny 911.
My daughter who is 10 and I watched all of the H2O Just add water series.
We had a long day out in the sun ( zoo trip) so I am exhausted, but that is what pops in my mind...
also we have watched all of the Doctor Who and have started on Star Trek ( which was just added, Yeah!!!)
