I am thinking something in a similar vein--historical fiction genre.

I have heard that "Upstairs, Downstairs" is good, and Season 1 is on Netflix

Any other good series? (we already watch "Spartacus" and "Game of Thrones")

So What Happened?

Good suggestions so far. Yes, I HAVE seen "The Tudors" -- probably the BEST historical docu-drama ever!!

Black Adder is hilarious
North & South is touching
Jane Austin is always good
Sharpe's ______ (Rifles, Sword, etc.) could have been done much better, but is decent

We have similar taste in tv programming. You might like the Hour if you have not already checked it out. Game of thrones season 2 starts soon!

Either rent from Blockbuster, or netflix The Tudors? (Season 4 is about to end in a couple weeks, I think?) Surprisingly (very) accurate (we're history nerds) and very interesting the way they put it all together. One of the best shows I've seen on TV-BUT-not really for those who feel uncomfortable with breasts or sexual situations.

Amazing Race started this past Sunday, and we always love that show.

We enjoyed the Tudors as well. We watch "Once Upon a Time" and really enjoy that. Not historical, per se, but transports you into a different world. We also enjoy True Blood and Dexter.
