Nondenomination Christian Church Reco In/around Dover Area

Family just moved from So Cal (specifically the Orange County area) and had a great church "family" there. Right now it's my husband, my 3 year old myself and a new one on the way in April.

Any recommendations of a good church that has a lot of young families (husband and I are in our early 30s), is non-denominational Christian or even Presbyterian? We would be willing to drive up to 30 minutes from the Dover area for a great place. We heard great things of Redeemer in NYC but it would be too far for us for every Sunday.

Thanks!

We go to the Liquid Church in Morristown, and love it. Give it a try before you decide--it's a Christian (non-denominational) church unlike any other. If you want to take a peek, go to www.liquidchurch.com where you can find out more info, and also listen to or view past sermons. Send me an e-mail if you have any questions!

HI D.,

I just replied to your other message... I know of a great Lutheran Church in Dover -- it's called Trinity Lutheran Church, and their pastor is a gem. Their website is tlcnj.org -- no coincidence that "Trinity Lutheran Church" spells "TLC" -- they do give tender loving care, to families at the church and to the community around them.

Blessings on you as you find a church home!

My family goes to Grace Church on the Mount, on Rt 46 in Netcong. Great church, great extended family. Officially, it is considered a Reformed Baptist church, but seems more non-denominational. All church beliefs come straight from the Bible. If it's not in there, it's not in our church. They cater to all age groups, from birth to older seniors, not leaving anyone out. There are 3 identical services on Sunday, 8:15am, 9:45am, & 11:15am, each lasting about an hour, so you have plenty of options for early risers, & late sleepers. Music is more contemporary Christian style. If you listen to Star 99.1 FM on your radio, you will know some of the songs we sing. My wife & I are volunteers for nursery & pre-school aged children. Very family oriented, many activities & groups to be involved in, or volunteer for. Check out the web site for more info, read the "Times of Grace" newsletter, even link to downloads & podcasts of sermon messages. http://www.gracechurchnj.org

Were you the one that also was asking about a good hospital to deliver at, OB-Gyn, pediatrician in the area too? I'll give ya all the info:

OB-Gyn: Tina Alessi (Midwife) works with One-to-One Female Care in Morristown on Madison Ave cross from the Morristown Memorial Hospital (great hospital to deliver at!) She works along side Dr. Garfinkle and it is an amazing practice.

For a pediatrician, I like Dr. Victoria Shluper. Her mom, Dr. Polansky was superb, but passed away unfortunately. She does a more holistic approach to things (baby probiotics, etc) and then will resort to traditional medicine if needed. She is also willing to work with you with the vaccine schedule if you want to move things around or seperate them.

We also use Elaine Hardy in Hackettstown, NJ for an even more holistic approach to things. Both are avail via email, phone or office round the clock:) Well, Elaine is not as much now that she just had a baby in April.

As for a church, I'll give ya a couple of names to church hop around to see where you all feel most comfy as a fam. Personally, we love Power House (non-denominational) all the way down in Wyckoff, NJ (google it). But for closer ones (now that we have a 2 year old and a 10 week old), we switch around to Breakpoint in Hackettstown, NJ (friends of ours go here) or Sparta Evangelical Free Church in Sparta (my hubby's brother and sister-in-law and their kids go here) OR Calvary Chapel Morris Hills in Dover, NJ (our friends Brian and Pam go here). Google them all, visit them all (happy hunting!). All have young couples with kids!

Contact me too and perhaps we could go to one of the churches together and do lunch (always lookin to meet moms in the area!) ____@____.com
