DEpends on the child, really, and how heavily they sleep. My son used Pullups at night until he was 5. My daughter stopped wearing them just before she turned 4.
My daughter turned 3 last November and has been fully potty trained since last September. During the day she has no problem. However, she still has a wet diaper overnight (occasionally she'll have a night or two with a dry one). We have tried everything to get her to stop. And she really wants to wear big girl panties to bed but we just can't risk it. How long does it take for them to 'get it'?

I have two daughters ages 6 and 4. My six-year-old was easy to potty train and was actually trained before she even turned two. However, she is STILL in pull-ups at night and we've discovered there just isn't much we can do. Our 4 year old was dry at night by the time she turned 3, never been a problem (although she was much harder to potty train!). Our doctor said when our oldest turns seven we can try medicince, but I've heard (from others on here) that isn't a good idea. I'd wait it out, nothing she can do to train herself and three is still very young to be dry overnight. Don't stress, it will come!
All kids are different. I she's day trained, she knows to go at night. Tell her to call for mommy or daddy when she has to potty at night. You guys put her on the pot when you go to bed; even if she's asleep for hours. New little fancy "big girl panties" may help. Stick with it and pray.
With my son, even though he was potty-trained, I also had a difficult time trusting that he could stay dry at night so I'd use pull-ups and often they were wet upon waking. Another mom told me that I just have to let him sleep in his underwear, let him have his accidents and quickly he would learn to wake himself to go to the bathroom. This actually worked. In less than a week, he was trained to wake himself up to go. I also limited drinks after dinner. Another great suggestion is to buy those waterproof sheets and layer them...waterproof sheet, cotton sheet, waterproof sheet, cotton sheet etc. so in the night if your daughter has an accident, you can whip the top two sheets off and fresh, dry sheets are underneath. I don't know if these will work but its worth a try.
My son is three and gets upset if we take his big boy undies off too, so we put the pull-ups on over his undies at night. Then if he has an accident it is contained but he is happy to have his big boy pants on. I know that doesn't solve your potty training but it helped us with the fight at night anyway until he is ready to go without the pull-up :)
Maybe she's wetting the diaper because she has one on? We used to let our son nap and sleep at night in diapers during the transition. After about 2 weeks, I just stopped letting him sleep in diapers. I was worried at first, but he knew what to do. Give her a chance, she may surprise you!
