Hyland's teething tablets are also sold at walmart, Target, Babies R Us, and drugstores. VERY helpful "medicine" although it is all natural....This is totally normal though. I wouldn't be concerned at all.
My baby is 3 months old and has started teething. For the last few weeks at night he only wants to nurse on one side for about 10 minutes and then goes back to sleep. He wakes up about 2-3 times a night. I'm worried he's not getting enough liquid because he's had mostly dry diapers for the last few nights even though he's gone hours without being changed. I should mention that during the day he has lots of wet diapers and usually 1-2 poopy ones. It's just at night that he's not wanting to eat for very long and then not having wet diapers
Thanks everyone. I fel lots better. He does eat during the day and has loads of wet diapers. He seems well apart from the misery of teething. I love this place. It's so nice to have moms to talk to

Count your blessings! Sounds like he's a really good sleeper.
As long as he's producing diapers during the day I wouldn't worry. Seems he's just wanting some comfort for his teething, then he falls back asleep. He may not even be eating much, which would explain the dry diapers.
Enjoy your baby and don't worry. :)
I think what's most important is the big picture. How many times is he nursing in a 24 hour period? From 2 - 4 months baby should nurse at least 6 times in 24 hr period. (http://www.mother-2-mother.com/normal.htm#breastfeedingpa...)
How many wet/poopies are you getting in a 24 hour period? He should be having around 5-6 good wet diapers/day. And after 6 weeks his stooling pattern may change. (http://www.mother-2-mother.com/normal.htm#NormalStools)

If you're worried, what about offering a little more frequently during the day? Baby's sleep patterns are constantly changing. As soon as you get them figured out, they go and change it on you!
Since you mentioned teething, here's some info on that:

Hope this helps!
Call your Pediatrician.
3 months old is also a "growth-spurt" time... in which they typically feed a lot more.
When teething, it hurts to nurse.
Look for signs of dehydration in a baby.. you can find it online.
no tears when crying, few wet diapers, depressed fontanel, fatigue etc.

Have you tried Hyland's teething tabs? It can help the discomfort. Found in natural food stores.
Call your pediatrician.
All the best,
Susan
your baby is normal.. he is starting to sleep longer periods.. he might be about ready to give up some of those late night nrusing....
as he gets older he will wet less often
this is all normal.
if he is peeing during the day he is getting plenty to drink.
I wouldn't worry at that age my LO was sleeping through the night with a mostly dry diaper come morning. This is because they don't pee in their sleep only when they wake up. He's probably not awake enough to go. My pediatrician has told me that as long as he urinates not soaks just urinates 3 times a day he should be fine.
If he falls asleep while you nurse him, he may just (like the rest of us) have a more comfortable or preferable sleeping side. Quite likely it might even be the side he was lodging on more often in your womb too. If he is teething he will be uncomfortable and not have an appetite.
This is exactly my three-month-old (except for the teething). She has been doing the same thing at night for days and days. I'm not sure what's going on, but I know she's fine. Don't worry! I'm just enjoying the short time we have to be awake at night.....
