I have a 14 month old who will not sleep through the night. Last night he woke up at midnight and stayed awake until 4 AM, and he does this fairly regularly. I have tried changing his scheadule, feeding him later, letting him cry it out, rocking him, even letting him just ahve free reign over his room throughout the night, just so that I could get some sleep, but he want to play with my husband and I then and wont leave us alone. My say's he'll grow out of it, but I'm afraid that my husband and I will both lose our minds from sleep deprivation. If anybody has any ideas that have worked for them, I will try anything at this point. Thank you!

my two year old is the same way, I have found that if I dont let her nap during the day, she will sleep thru the night. But the real fun now is she gets so tired some days that she will fall asleep no matter what. lol I dont have a solution for that yet, but will let ya know if I ever do. lol Winter is a hard time for every mom out there, especially as weird as this one has been. Is there areas where you can let your child run around, like a community center or a play area at the mall or a fast food restraunt like McDonalds? Good Luck!

My daughter went through this briefly around the times she learned to crawl and walk. There was so much fun new stuff to do! If I couldn't get her back to sleep, I'd put her in a playpen in the living room while I dozed on the couch. I tried to follow the advice of being quiet and boring during nighttime hours, because they then learn that this isn't playtime, and make sure there is lots of activity during the day to burn off energy so they sleep better. Also making sure her room was kept fairly dark during sleeping hours so she could distinguish between sleep time and day time has helped keep her on a more consistent schedule.

He may not be getting enough physical activity during the day. I have a 19 month old and if she doesn't do much during the day I have noticed she doesn't sleep as well. Try dancing, or tag or a nice indoor activity if it is cold out. Hope this helps!

How many naps does he take during the day? Maybe cut them back. Keep him busy in the evening. Like maybe running around or swimming something that will get him really tired. then make sure he stays awake if he falls a sleep in the evening wake him up. Then do the reg bath story or what ever you do before bed and see if that helps. Maybe wake him up in the morning when you get up. And start his day. Just make sure you are able to do this around the same time everyday. Wake up nap or no nap and bed time. Don't let him sleep durning the time you want him awake. The first week he might be a little cranky but that's what happens when you doing get sleep. He will get tired and sleep when you let him. But later on he maybe great with graveyard shift. Good luck. Wishing you sweet dreams.
