Next Step Bath Tub

My 6 month old son (who is big, 22lbs) has outgrown his infant tub. Any suggestions for the next step? I have an inflatable tub, but he is not quite sitting up by himself. Especially when there are toys in the tub, he thinks he should bob for them with his mouth! I see the bath chairs, but they look so uncomfortable, and gives them no freedom to move around. Any suggestions??

What can I do next?

We just found this tub on zulily.com but it's on amazon too. Ours is blue.

It is small for bigger or older toddlers, but our daughter loves it no matter what. She loves sloshing around, leaning back, turning on her side, etc. I like it a lot, but just know it depends on what your kid likes. I also have a munchkin duck tub that is tiny, but she also still likes it, and another blow up kind. Not a big fan of those, since you need a place to keep it, but it's still around somewhere...!

We got a munchkin safety bath cradle - it's large sponge. Works great for baby to lay on and get washed, then I hold her up and let her play for a while with the sponge on the bottom to protect if she slips. Kind of a pain to wring out, we just leave it in the bathtub between baths.

Maybe this is a good time to work on sitting up in the tub or you and he can bathe together ... I am 6"2 I do not fit in tubs well, I would have loved to take a bath with my son but I am just too big for standard tubs!

We had a bath chair when my son was a baby. It had suction cups on the bottom. Didn't like it. Even if you have the suction cups secured really well, you still have to be very careful. The suction cups can still come loose. It was working out fine, but one day just one of the suction cups came loose and he starting going backwards into the water. I caught him and threw the thing out. It is hard to wash them in it too, because there's just not enough room for your hand and the baby's body. Then there's trying to get an active little boy out of the thing...not easy. I wound up having my hubby help me give him a bath. Hubby would hold onto him, while I washed him. To be honest....having hubby help made great family bonding time!
