New to the Area

Welcome to the area! I am also an RN. We have lived here for 15 years and also love it.

I get my nail care at Happy Nails in Laguna Niguel (Crown Valley and Marina Hills). What I like about them is that I see them sterilize the basin and the instruments come right from the autoclave. They do great work. I believe it is a chain, so there may be one closer to you.

Chinese food is a bit more difficult. You might try China Moon (Near Crown Valley and Alicia). They are expensive and somewhat inconsistent. Let me know if you find a great place!

I am assuming AV is Aliso Viejo.?. I live in Lake Forest. Happy Nails is a nail place all over. You might want to check them out. They have the spa chairs. Also, I am the president of the MOMS Club of Lake Forest. There is a MOMS Club of Aliso Viejo. Usually newborn through 5 are the most commom ages. There are playgroups, moms nights out, tours, fieldtrips, etc. Check it out!

There is a great nail shop called Club Nails in the Henry's/ Home Depot center on La Paz Road and Pacific Park.

Hi D.. The thing that SAVED me when I moved here was/is Stroller Strides. It's a mom's group/exercise class/playgroup all rolled into one. There are 5-day per week classes (and a once per month family class--with the husbands) offered all around AV, Laguna Hills, Dana Point, etc. The one hour classes are fun for the kids and really get the moms in shape. We do mom's nights out, the kids get activities after classes, and it's the best support system. Check them out: www.strollerstrides.com

I go to AV Town Center for my nails at Happy Nails. I think they're good and they can always squeeze you in.

There are plenty of fun things to do with the kids like toddler story time at the library, Scooter's Jungle toddler days (Wed. and Thurs.) Story Lady at Hush Baby in Town Center (Thurs.)

I just moved to the area a few months ago- I have a 5 month old son- I'm a 24 yr old SAHM. There is an amazing shopping center off pac park and aliso creek with EVERYTHING you could possible need. There is a MOMS club too, just yahoo it. There's a gorgeous park right above the center on the hill right by the movie theater- lots of moms hang out there and at the center by the theater. Haven't found any good chineese yet....Hope that helps!

PF Changs is great chinese food, it's a little different than the norm, but outstanding! Try MOPS(mother's of pre schoolers) you will be glad you did. It's awesome for meeting new moms and very informative for bringing up kids. Coast Hills Church is where I went and it's in Aliso Viejo. Don't delay, sign up because they fill up. And if you need a Realtor, Im your girl. Im honest, dependable, and lots of fun!

I like the Happy Nails in the Ralphs center at Aliso Creek and La Paz. As for Chinese food, I like Jade Palace in the Ralphs center at the corner of Aliso Creek and Pacific Park. No idea on moms clubs...I, unfortunately am stuck working. :(

Hey Dawn~ there are tons of places to get your nails done! There's a Happy Nails in the shopping area where Edwards cinema is. There's another one by the Blockbuster Video on Alicia where the Vons market is. How old are the kids?? There are a lot of gymnastics and karate places for kids. Lots of parks in AV. The best Chinese food we found is in Laguna Niguel off of Niguel Road called China Moon. I'm also an RN but I work part-time in Newport Beach.
