I just moved to St Louis 3 weeks ago and have no idea where to find babysitters. I live in the Maryland Heights area and would like to have a couple of people I could call to watch my 2 year old. I still have boxes to unpack, and it is very difficult to get that done with a little one wanting attention. Plus I would love to out with my husband on ocassion. Any help would be appreciated

If you contact some of the colleges in the area they may have lists of potential babysitters. I know that Washington University does this. Several of my friends have gone this route and been happy with their results.
J.,
I don't live near you but you can try going to www.babysitters.com . All you have to do is search for a sitter using your area code! Anyone who uses that sitter has to "rate" them on the website so you know they're parent tested and approved! It usually shows their rate as well.
The only caveat is that you have to pay like $30 to use the site for 3 mos. But my thought is, if you've found someone you love and will use over and over again it's well worth the $$!
Hope that helps!
