Any suggestions on playgroups in the Tinley Park, IL area? I just quit my job and would love to connect with moms in the area. I have an 18 month old who is also in need of company his own age (grandma has been watching him until now and he never gets to play with kids his age).

I cannot recommend MOMS Club more! I am 99% sure they have a Tinley Park chapter. Check MOMSCLUB.ORG. If you don't see Tinley listed... just contact the organization... they may take a little bit to respond. If not, there are MOPS groups through churchs or MEETUP.COM has a bunch of moms groups too ! Enjoy!

It takes time to find friends as a grown-up! I started with library story hours, park district classes, etc. Then, I reached out to individual moms by setting up get togethers - either at my house or at the park. There are also MOPS and Moms And More clubs at churches - sometimes they can be cliquey if they have been together for awhile - it is worth a shot though. My best bet was to find other firsttime moms who hadn't found their niche yet either. Don' worry = they are out there and probably looking for you too!
I went to meetup after posting a similar post. I reached out to 2 different groups (I think one might have been in Tinley) and never heard anything back from either. What a let down. I hope you have better luck!
