Hello Momma's!! I am currently seeking a new pediatrician for my (almost) 17 month old little man. We live in Garland so we're looking for someone around the area (Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett, Richardson, North Dallas). I don't want to take him to just anyone I could look up on the phone book so any help on someone recommended would be great!! Thanks.

Dr. Shawn Abel in Garland is a wonderful peditrician. My OBGYN recommended her to me. We absolutely love her. Her office is by Baylor Garland Hospital. Here's a link to her info. http://www.pediatricsgarland.com/Physician.aspx?29440

We love Dr Chris Straughn at Forest Lane Pediatrics at Medical City Dallas. We've used him since day 1 for my 17-month-old daughter. Their website is www.forestlanepediatrics.com. There's never a long wait at his office. He's young, and has three young boys (one set of twins, and their older brother), so he can relate to whatever you're going through.

I triple (I'd have seconded it but there already were 2) Forest Lane Pediatrics. I see Dr. Blair but I've seen every other doctor there in emergencies and have liked them all. I like Blair and Stroughn (sp??) the best, but they're all good. Their office is very clean and well run, with a separate sick room, they are very quick to respond to after hours calls and they have offices in both Plano and Dallas. They are very responsive and take time to answer your questions but they are also conservative in treatment (at least Blair is) - not quick to put you on antibiotics unless there's an actual infection (what a novel concept, eh?), I love them.

I use Dr. Rosemary Roseberry (I know, funny name) and I think she is great. I like her because she won't order unnecessary test etc. And she'll tell you like it is and is always honest. THere are other doctors that work in the same office so if Dr. Roseberry is unavailable for some reason, you can usually get in with another doctor. Her waiting room has a T.V. with a kids movie usually playing. Dr. Roseberry has two children and one with special needs so she understands that aspect of mothering. Her number is ###-###-####. Also, her nurse Joann is fantastic and will do her best to get you what you need. The group also has urgent care hours after 5 and Saturday hours plus a 24 hour nurse call line, where a nurse will call you within 30 minutes if you need help afterhours.

Hi. We see Dr. Neely.

Pediatricians of Dallas, P.A.
8325 Walnut Hill Lane
Dallas , TX 75231
General Phone: ###-###-####

It is by Presby Dallas.

I like him a lot. When I was trying to find a pedi I asked my ob office. They said almost everyone there sent their kids to him. I figured if he was good enough for them -- he was probably good enough for me ;-) The office is big with lots of drs(I hear they are all great) so if your kid gets sick you can easily get an appointment with someone else (my dd has only been sick once but I was able to get an appointment right away). You see your primary doctor for all your well visits. I like the nice touches of a big office -- different areas for sick and well babies. A screen with a movie in the waiting room - although I have never waited more than about 5 minutes. 24 hour nurse line-- you can call anytime and a nurse on call will call you back. Several times we have had something happen at home (like when I tried to cut my dds nails and cut her :-( and she wouldn't stop bleeding) and you call up and the nurse on call calls you back w/in 30 min and tells you what to do.

You can request a free appointment to go in and meet the dr to see if you like him.

I ask a ton of questions and he always listens and answers them. I think the office is very effiecent but still feels like everyone cares.

Hope this helps.

We had to switch our little guy to another doctor at 8 months because our just wasn't paying attention to me or treating my child effectively. We began going to Forest Lane Pediatrics, and started seeing doctor Christopher McGonnell. He was the pediatrician at our hospital were we delivered and he did our little one's circumcision. We love this doctor's office. They have a very aggressive approach, at least with us. The first week with them, we found out, through their aggressive approach my son had pretty bad reflux and problems swallowing thin liquids. He is now 18 months old and no longer has reflux or issues with thin liquids. Our doctor has two small ones at home so we always feel comfortable because we know they are having some of the same issues too! It is nice to see a pediatrician that has small kids at home and not one that hasn't had kids in the house in 20 years. Hope this helps. Forest Lane Pediatrics is at Medical City in Dallas. We live in Rowlett so it is a bit of a drive for us, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I second Dr. Mathieu. Also, Dr. Richard Daniels is in the same building at North Star and Renner. If you love a kind, gentle man, Dr. Daniels is your pediatrician. He has a wonderful staff, and he truly loves children. He is never rushed and will explain anything to you. If you ever have questions and can't reach him right away, he will call you back. He has called me back several times in the evening to discuss my concerns and educate me when needed.

Dr Early Denison at Pediatric Associates of Dallas located on Walnut Hill just east of 75. He's a young doctor, so he's very up to date and will be around awhile ;) The practice is full of great doctors, so if you need to get in right away and Dr Denison is not available, you'll feel good about taking your child to any one of them. He and the nurses are very prompt to return phone calls. I've only had to take my son in for one sick visit, but they got him in right away. I know a lot of people who take their children to Dr Denison, and everyone has good things to say. Check out their website www.padnewsletter.com
