Hi,
My daughter gets these bites and has a horrible reaction to them. At first we thought they were spider bites. But now we think they are just mosquito bites and we think she is allergic to them. Her eye swelled up so bad today, we took her to the emergency clinic tonight, they gave me a prescription to help with the swelling. I want to go have her tested to see if I can find out exactly what kind of bug is doing this to her. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone recommend a pediatric allergist that I should see? She gets these bites often and they always turn into a big scabby mess and lately she has been swelling up afterwards. Thanks in advance!
Well, I ended up seeing Dr. Van Wagoner in Plano because that was closer to my house. We didn't really get anywhere because my daughter didn't have any bites when we took her in for the doctor to look at. But he did tell me that it might not even be bites, it might be hives, or she could be allergic to something. He put everything in a whole new perspective. He told me to just call back to his office as soon as it happens again and he would fit me in.
Another vote for Dr. VanWagoner. If you're anywhere near Plano, I'd definitely go to him!

My son see's Dr John Van Wagoner at the Southwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic. We have been going there for about 1 1/2 yrs. Dr VW has a great bedside manner and is great with the kids.
