I'd focus on the foods you are eating. Instead of counting every calorie, try this rule - don't eat it unless it looks like it did when it was pulled out of the ground, pulled off the tree or cut off the animal :) Make sure any carbohydrates are whole wheat & whole grain. If you eat like this you can pretty much eat as much as you like.
For example:
For breakfast, a piece of whole wheat whole grain toast with natural peanut butter or almond butter, a little cinnamon sprinkled on top (not cinnamon sugar) and a banana sliced over that. Yummy! Or oatmeal with nuts and bananas, cinnamon and flax.
Lunch is like a yummy snack - a little cheese (just can't live without it), half an avocado, nuts, a piece of fruit or raw veggie.
Dinner is lean protein (fish /salmon/ or chicken), and steamed or roasted veggie. Some home made pasta sauce (it's easy in the crock pot - think Pinterest) with whole wheat and grain pasta.
Those are just some examples. Don't try to "fit in" junk food to your calorie allotment and eat as much wholesome foods as you like (within reason, of course :) Hungry at 10 pm - grab a piece of fruit. Don't starve yourself!
If you are like me, there is NO WAY the 4:30 am work out wake up call is going to stick. I just know myself well enough to know that is not going to work for me. Can you do some exercising when you are watching TV? I have back exercises I have to do and I always fit them in after the kids are in bed, when I'm watching the news or another fav show on the DVR.
