There are specific lab rescues out there that would be happy to take him/her! I know of fetchingcompanions.org. It shouldn't be a problem to get rid of a lab, a lot of folks would like one! Good luck!

Lab Rescue is the way to go. My former boss got two of her dogs from them and they were wonderful!
I would start placing add's in the paper or ask around... make sure if you do give your dog to someone you dont know get references or check out their home... make sure they are fit to be good owners. There are shelters for dogs that are great for finding homes. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/labrescuect.html
that is a link to a Lab rescue.. they specialize in labs so they would be better then a random shelter. I am not a 100% positive they take dogs but you can call them and they could give you a place to do... hope this helps.

Send an email to all your friends and relatives. I put an APB out looking for a puppy for my daughter and a couple days later, we were blessed with a 10 week old puppy from one of my friends. If you put the word out to your inner circle, it can be relayed from them to their friends.
I might know of someone who would want the dog. Are you wanted to give him away? Are you selling him? My in-laws are dog LOVERS and might be willing to take your dog. I have a 3 year old female chocolate lab named Tejas. We love her and my in-laws love her as well. They are always inviting her over for play dates with their other two yellow labs :o). I'm not sure if this is the way you want to go...just let me know what you think.
have you tried craigs list. Craigs list is a free web based advertising web that allows you to advertise for everything even giving away a pet to a good family. craigslist.com
why are you trying to get rid of this dog? Is he good with kids??
I would contact your local Vet's and/or put an add in the Penny Saver. It is really hard when you have to give up a pet! Sorry for what you're going through!
Hi! Labs go fast - in which you might be lucky in this case, but I would google Lab rescue or Lab foster care. I know that some people take in animals on a temporary basis and then find them a permanent home - theres got to be a network for this. My friend fosters Min Pins! My other suggestion would be to email out to ALL your friends - it's viral marketing then they forward this to everyone they know. That's how another one of my friends found her golden retriever! Good luck!
Where do you live??

Also, Gentle Giants Rescue will take him and readopt him. Tracy Ward runs the rescue.
Log onto www.Gentlegiantsrescue.com for more info.
Please do not bring him to a shelter.
Hi P.,
have you tried any Lab Rescue Organizations? A purebred Lab will be easy to place.
Here is link to a So Cal Lab Rescue http://www.sclrr.org/
Good Luck!
Hi P.,
I just had to find a new home for my Lab I highly reccomend So cal Lab rescue at sclrr.org. They were able to match great pre approved families, for our dog. I felt really good about the family that came over and they ended up taking our pooch. Lab rescue really loves labs and wants the best for them! Good luck! Carolyn
Call the ASPCA and see if you can find a rescue for Labradores. I'm sure you will find someone who rescues Labs for adoption and will make sure that the new family is right for the dogs needs. They will have the capability to research the new family and do follow up checks to make sure the dog is being treated well and not neglected or abused. They can even take the dog back and try to readopt to a new family. If you can't find a rescue place try hunting clubs who may want the dog for bird hunting which is what labs were bred to do.
Hey P., i have always been a dog lover and am always picking up strays and finding them homes. What I've done in the past is ask everyone I know including the mail man if they know anyone that wants a pet. I also take pictures or video with my cell phone and show them to people I know are just as pasionate about animals as i am. just be patient and someone great will come along!
Are you local to the los angeles area. I would love to see if the dog is a good fit for my family. It's my husband and I and our 2yr old son. We had a choclate lab a few years ago but had to give him aways because we were in an apt. We now have a home with a great backyard and I would love to have another lab.
