Need to Find a Good Car Rental Rate at MSP Airport!

We have airline tickets to Minneapolis/St. Paul for late June to attend a family wedding. I am having so much trouble getting a good car rental! I tried priceline several times, and the prices are ridiculous! We always used Enterprise in NM, they were always cheapest, but I'm just stuck! Maybe it's the time of year. I've booked cars at airports before for under $20, but they are saying the retail price is over $30 for the tiniest little car! Any ideas, coupons, suggestions? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I'd try checking Hotwire. Yes, for MN the summer months are definitely prime travel time, especially in late June, as that's the time for the Taste of MN and some classic car shows.

I've never seen a car around $20. I routinely book directly with Alamo because that is our preferred rental car. My husband travels and we spend about $1000 a month on Alamo rental cars.

I do know on the site, you get a little discount if you sign up for the Quicksilver # (frequent renter) AND I've seen offers to get up to 20% off the entire rental IF you pay in advance.

I can't pay in advance with no refund because his plans change too much. I have to be able to modify things in an instant.

SOMETIMES, when I have been unable to get a car with anyone....he has taken a Free shuttle to a nearby hotel and THEN had Enterprise pick him up or rent directly from that site.

Hope that helps.

Have you tried kayak.com?

Use one of those services like Expedia that gives you all the car rental companies that serve that airport with prices side by side. Make sure it includes the taxes and fees. You may have to check what size car you want first. Can't remember. Good way to compare. It also tellsl you what types of cars they have in those categories. However, in order to ensure a certain type of car, you have to call the direct number of that rental agency in that airport and ask if they have that type and could put a note on your reservation that you really want that most. No guarantees, but they'll try. Good idea to sign up for that rental car's membership so you can get through the system quicker without standing in line.
