Need Some Random Help on Glueing Foam Together

this is a random question and not exactly, mommy related, but I am going to go ahead and ask anyhow.
I have some alphabet foam floor squares. They can attach together to make like an area rug. The alphabet letters in the middle of the square come out and I would like to attach the letter to the square so it stays in. Any suggestions on how to do this. If glue - what kind and what would be the best way to do it? I have 2 sets so 52 letters and I don't want to spend forever on it. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I am a 'professional' crafter and would suggest hot glue, high temp, not low temp. E6000 may work, but it takes several hours to set, and will most likely just be absorbed by the foam. I use foam frequently and not many glues hold it very well.

I would think that crazy gle would work, but that is a lot of letters to glue... I really can't think of an easy way. How much traffic will the area have? If it is not a lot then maybe you can glue in 3 or 4 spots around the letter, and that should hold it. If it high traffic or kids will be pulling at it, then you would probably need to glue most of the way around the letters - no easy way out.

Alternatively, double side sticky tape might work too... but a truly persitant child might be able to pull a letter out.

Good luck!

DAP? Not something I'd use in the house and you have to decide if it's OK with your kids' stuff, but I'm sure it puts foam together. You can also try spray glue.

Get a hot glue gun and use it carefully. It works well on foam. I once made a foam killer whale costume and it held up well.

I would try a hot glue gun. If you have a dual temp that would probably work best I'd try the low temp 1st to make sure that the letters don't melt.

I wouldn't try spray glue it is very very messy.
