How about put #'s on ducks and placing them in a pool. Each child picks a duck and earns a prize based on the #. Also, an egg race where the kids race with eggs on a spoon.
Hi I'm a Stay at home mom of 2 and my little girl will be turning 3 in May. She really wants to have a Jo-Jo Circus party. So i'm looking for ideas on games for kids around her age. All the chilren would be under 5 so what kids of games are appropriate for them? I thought of a bean bag toss and giving prizes, and a fishing game with magnets on the ends of the rods, but I don't know what else we should do. I'd really like to make this special for her. The games are going to be held in a nice size back yard. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Hi J.,
You can try musical chairs
You could have a treasure hunt with a small kiddie pool and play sand, just hide little toys in the sand and let the kids hunt for them. You can get an assortment of toys from Oriential Trading Co. I definately would suggest the crafts too. Kids this age like the satifaction of making something that they can take home. You could get the little wood animal cutouts from your local craft store and let the kids paint them (make sure you get animals that you would see at the circus (Lions, Seals, Bears, Horses, etc). Good luck and have fun!
The Family Fun website (www.familyfun.com) has a great carnival themed party with tons of ideas from invites to games to prizes. On the site, go to parties and then click on carnival (this was the closest they had to a circus). Good Luck!

Go to birthdayexpress.com and they will give you some ideas.
What about getting mini traffic cones (www.orientaltrading.com) and do a mini ring toss kinda game.
If you got the money hire a clown who does ballon figures.
Good Luck

i think you should do a dress up race where you have one outfit and the kids get into two even teams, the first person puts on the outfit runs to the ned of the backyard and back and the next person does the same etc. until everyone has gone and the team who finish's first wins. i would also do a pinatta, face painting and some jojo arts and crafts.
Good luck!
Sorry to be a downer but don't even bother with games at that age. It's a waste of money, time, and lots of frustration trying to get them organized to play. If it's warm out, get a kiddie pool, sprinkler, or slip-n-slide. If it's not warm enough for water, get a sandbox with enough toys and lots of big balls. You know the $2.00 ones in the big cages at Target or Wal-Mart. This way you are investing in toys to use all summer without spending a ton of money. And the big balls could also go home with the kids instead of a goodie bag filled with stuff that the parents just throw out later.
And I would wait on ordering the Jo-Jo plates. She could be into something else by May. Do though, have lots of balloons and order a fun cake.
Take lots of pictures and videos!!!
My daughter loves Jo JO and we are going to be doing a JoJo themed party for her in May. I was going to do a pin the nose on jo jo - i was going to blow up a picture of her on a color copier and then use little red pom-pom things from the craft store as noses to stick to her face. I have been trying to think of "circus like" games and activities. If you have three or four activities that should be plenty for kids that age. you could also do clown makeup on the kids if you have artistic ability.
Here is an idea that my friends and I have used. See if someone can draw a picture of JO JO color it and then go buy pom pom's and have them play stick the nose on JOJO. Or maybe pick another character in the show. I know we have done Clifford and used red boas for a tail, and we used the fair godmother and cut out big stars and they had to stick them to her wand. It is a fun game and everyone wins!!! Freze dance is a good one too. Use music from the show and have them dance till the music stops and they freeze. Nobody wins but they love to dance at this age and it is funny to watch. Have a great party.
Hi J., I dont have any ideas for you but Birthdayexpress.com

Hi there! My name is C., I am a mother of a 6yr old boy and a 3yr old girl with one on the way! My daughter just turned 3 this past July and she wanted a JoJo's Circus party as well. We had the party in our backyard, prayed for sun, which all worked out wonderfully! If you have any teenage kids or adults that could help, that would be great! We have so many cousins, that i put the older ones to work, We had a table for face painting, so my 16yr old cousin drew up one page of designs for the kids to pick ( these face paining colors can be bought at target). another table we had tattoo's with animals, a coloring pages table with stickers, crayons, jojo coloring pages, construction paper and kids scissors so they could make there own craft, we bought a kit at micheals (5.00) for making animal balloons - this was a lot of fun, we bought kits that made necklaces (flower) for the girls and kits that made nemo keychains for the boys. We made signs(painted) with jo jo describing each table, then all the table clothes were either jojo or primary colors with balloons at all the tables. We had a bouncer for the kids to play in and made a game - pin the nose on jojo. For cake we did jojo and Goliath cupcakes and rainbow sherbert. It turned out so nice and everyone had so much fun!! I cant wait to see what she wants this year! I sure hope this helps!! Good Luck!

We opted out of games at that age. We just did the simple ones like pin-the-tail on the Donkey, musical chairs, and duck-duck-goose. Instead, we went to the local craft store and bought tiny boxes for cheap and then paints and had the children paint the boxes. (advising the parents to bring an old-t-shirt for painting would be wise). There are non toxic paints out there for the kids or even have them do them in non toxic markers. The kids will really enjoy them. then we had the kids go on a treasure hunt for items we had hidden around the yard to put in the boxes. The children really seem to enjoy and the older siblings love helping. Also.... atreasuredmemory.net has some really awesome party favor's for fabulous prices.
you can get a plate from Color Me Mine and have all the kids sign it and then back it for her to keep for ever.
