I have been struggling with the decision about whether or not to vaccinate and am looking for a pediatrician who won't pressure me to go ahead with it. When I had my newborn consult with my current pediatrician, she seemed open to it and said I could just sign a waiver refusing the vaccinations, if that's what I chose. Now that it's time to decide, she is bullying me hard. I want a doctor that will calmly talk to me about things and who may be open to other alternatives (delaying the vaccines, spacing them out, etc.) I am in the Near West End by Willow Lawn and would like a doctor nearby - but I'd be willing to drive some for a good one! Thanks!

What can I do next?

There are many benefits to not vaccinating and/or delayed/selective vaccinating. One is that vaccines are filled with "carriers" that hold the vaccine - in addition to mercury they can be fermaldehyde, egg whites, and more. I feel every parent should do their own research and make the best informed decision for their family and for theie child and children.

Why are you struggling with the decision to vaccinate or not? What do you feel the benefits are of not vaccinating? I am just curious...not judging. I am always surprised when I hear someone does not want to vaccinate. Vaccinations save lives. I was just talking to my father who had mumps, measles and scarlet fever when he was young...he almost died. Now we have something (vaccines) that can prevent death from those diseases. I only see the upside of vaccinations. The only downside is the non-proven chance of a child developing autism from mercury in vaccines of the past (they no longer put mercury in vaccines). My thought is that you give your child the best possible chance of living a healthy life by vaccinating...that's my opinion though.

I think you may have some luck with Pediatrics Assiciates on the corner of Three Chopt and Patterson. I have seen Dr. Bates and she will definitely be open to talking about it calming with you. I would go to her, though, because I cannot speak for the rest of the doctors there. I am not sure why you don't want to vaccinate your child but there is an article in the Parade mag from the Sunday paper that addresses the correlation b/n autism and vaccinations.

I am also a mom that children has changed my life and priorities. Children are the most amazing gifts of all!
