My daughter will be turning 5 in Oct. and wants a Spongebob outer space party, lol. I found the lego spongebob/sandy/Patrick figures dressed in astronaut clothing and my mom will help me with the cake. I'm looking for creative ideas for the party. I found a few ideas on Pinterest for outerspace like having bottled water with a sign in front of them that says "jet fuel", giving astronaut food and moon dough as favors, but other than that, I'm at a loss.
I think her idea of combining the two is really cute since they are her 2 favorite things, but it's hard to come up with ideas for anything.
My friend took a picture of her in her astronaut helmet and photoshoped it to make it look like she's in space and put an astronaut spongebob on it so I'm going to use that for the invite. :)

What can I do next?

teach the kids how to do Michael Jackson's Moonwalk!

have them play Freeze Dance...by pretending they're floating thru space. Lots of photo ops with this one.

Buy yellow sponges & decorate them like SpongeBob...& use them as decorations everywhere!

Use poster board to create a "Pin the star/moon/etc on SpongeBob".

Hand out star stickers as prizes....the kind teachers use for grading.

What's that phrase? "Shoot the Moon"? Have the kids use water guns to hit a moon-shaped target. Decorate the target with a point system.

Oh, wow....I could go on & on. Love parties!

I think you've got cute ideas to start with. I love Pinterest. I saw an idea on there for making "jetpacks" using empty 2-liter bottles and streamers, maybe you could do something like that for the kids as a craft, then they could put them on and play with them. Here's the link to my pin...

I love doing cakewalk-type games at parties, where you put numbers on the floor and the kids walk on them while you play music, when the music stops you pick a number and that kid gets a small prize. Instead of numbers, you could do planets and moons and stars and spongebob characters.

Hang planets (styrofoam, spray painted balls) from the ceiling.

Next, hang stars

Paint carboard gray or blue as a back drop & use as walls against your walls.

Make the food "outer space themed": Mars Bars, those rock pieces of candy that actually look like rocks, Hot dogs can be Saturn dogs (you get the idea).

Have light sabers for the kids.

Make big fake rocks to put out everywhere in corners of your house. Even put a drop cloth down so it looks like you're stepping on a planet.
