Hi Moms, I'm looking for some advice on our 1st ever trip to Disneyland in June. We are planning to go for 3 days and may have a set of grandparents with us.

We love the idea of staying in one of the Disneyland hotels but are looking at the hotels just outside the park to try and save money. We have been looking online at hotels, trying to work out the best deal. Disneyland resort sounds expensive so we were looking at hotels just outside the resort. We have seen Portofino hotel and suites in Anaheim and have been looking at a kid suite so our room would be adjoined to the kids room so we wouldn't have to go to bed all together when the kids go to sleep. If grandparents come with us, they would have their own room preferably at the same hotel.

We have looked at the Disneyland website but it is in tiny print and is so slow so we haven't got very far in looking yet. Unfortunately, we don't have AAA membership or belong to any organizations that would get us a discount. If anyone has any suggestions, recommendations or experiences of any hotels inside or outside Disney staying with young children, I'd love to hear from you!

You Moms are such a great resource and are full of wisdom so I'm hoping you can help!

Many thanks

Try the anabella hotel. It is next to the convention center, not as centrally located like some of the hotels across from the entrance, but so much CLEANER and nice. They have a trolly that picks up right outside the hotel that runs frequently and takes you right to the entrance or you can walk (which we do, but we go 3-4 times a year so we are really familiar with the parks.) They have a room that has one bed and then a room with another bed and an additonal room with bunk beds. Good luck and Have FUN!

Since you are new to California, you would probably get a lot more out of your trip if you use the services of a travel agent. I know a great one in the San Jose area. She can help with plans for your entire trip, or just with the hotel. She is very knowledgeable, personable, and comes to your house if you like.

Her name is Margie Weidert. Call ###-###-#### or email ____@____.com would be delighted to assist you in planning your perfect vacation.

The motel I would recommend is the Park Vue Inn which is directly across from the Disneyland entrance. In fact, the crosswalk is right in front of the motel. You just walk straight across to the park!

I liked the convenience of this place for afternoon naps since you don't have to wait for a shuttle and the entrance is easy to get to, especially if you are pushing strollers. It's not fancy, but clean. And it's definitely going to be less than staying in the Disneyland Hotel. Use the extra money you save for food at the park!

Also, this motel has rooms with a mini fridge and a microwave. A plus for keeping water bottles or juice packs cool. They have a very decent breakfast with waffles, hot oatmeal, toast, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, etc. That's one less meal you'll have to think about!

My tip is to get a room with 2 queen beds because the room is bigger than the ones with bunks. I do not know if they have suites, but I bet your little ones will be so tired out and fast asleep after a day at Disneyland that they won't wake up to anything.

There are also many restaurants right along the block if you don't want to eat in Disneyland. (I-HOP is right next door).

We are definitely planning on staying at the Park Vue the next time we go to Disneyland! Have a great time!!!

I have stayed at the Camelot Inn 2 years in a row...it's on of the hotels right across the street from the Disneyland entrance. It has 1 or 2 bedroom accomadations and they provide a continental breakfast every morning (a plus if you want to save money). This hotel is great location wise because you don't have to take a bus to get to Disneyland and the walk to the entrance is 5 minutes away.
