C., I read your post and the ones from those who have moved to the Greenville area from other states. As a true native of the upstate of South Carolina it gives me great pleasure to see such positive reviews of our area. At times it can be easy to overlook the beauty of the area, the cultural opportunities here, and even the great educational opportunities of our area when you have lived here all your life. However, I strive each day to give thanks for the many things available here in the upstate that make my quality of life so wonderful. We have great healthcare facilities here (including a university-afilliated teaching hospital), excellent higher education (USC Upstate, Clemson University, Webster University, Bob Jones University, Greenville Tech and my own alma mater - Furman University), entertainment galore (Bi-Lo Center, Peace Center for the Performing Arts, Greenville Little Theatre, Children's Theater, etc.) as well as historic and recreational places to visit (Lake Hartwell, Paris Mtn State Park, Table Rock, Caesar's Head, Fall's Park in downtown Greenville, Cleveland Park & Greenville Zoo). If all of this is not enough to make you want to move here today, we also have some of the nation's cleanest drinking water AND should your tummy get upset, you can find plenty of Pepto-Bismol here since we manufacture this pink cure-all here in Greenville! I had to throw that one in because the pink color reminds me of breast cancer awareness month being in October, so don't forget your mammogram! Take care and good luck with your decision on whether or not to move to the Greenville area. I believe if you choose to move here you will truly enjoy its breath-taking beauty and the kindness of those who live here.
