I am looking for some families that would like to host an exhange student from a different country.
I am a Rep. for a Student Exchange Corporation and I have a list of over 60 young children that can't wait
to be able to experience America and our schools.
If you know of some Families that would be interested please let me know....

What can I do next?

This is something my sister did this past summer. She hosted 3 different students that stayed with her about two to three weeks each. What is the time frame my family would be looking at? I noticed you had a post from someone else saying it's a year long commitment. Is this true? If you're still looking for families, e-mail me the info so I can share it with my husband. Good luck with your search!

There are more and more school districts that are no longer accepting exchange students because of reduced budgets. This is something that people need to consider. We hosted a foreign exchange student from Germany about 5 years ago--there were plusses and minuses to this relationship. I would just advise people to think about it carefully because you will be making a year long commitment to a child or teen whose family lives far away.

We are in no position right now to host one, but I was an exchange student myself 12 years ago. It was stressful experience in the begining while everyone adjusted, but was great after that. We are still in touch and I consider them my second family:)

I am a mom of 2 young children with the space to host either a girl or boy exchange student. I would prefer a german exchange student as that is my native country and can help with the language barrier and translation best on that. I am in Greenville, Texas. Feel free to email me at ____@____.com

I have one from Germany right now and it has been the most wonderful experence. We have had some stressful times, but only with the schedule and classes the school put her in.
I can't take another until the year after next as we are moving in June.
It is a huge commitment and needs to be thought through. But when God opens an opportunity to experience another country why should we shy away because it might be hard?
One thing, if any of you or your husbands have a TSSCI clearance at work these children must be approved by your security manger.
