I have a neighbor that makes birthday cakes for a hobby and she can make anything!!! She is so talented and MUCH less expensive than a bakery or Kroger, etc. Her name is Lisa and I can give you her number if you want to talk with her. She made the cake for my daughter's first birthday in August and it was exactly what I had asked for. We had a French pink poodle theme. I ordered some pink poodle trinkets from ebay for less than $5 and we bought plain pink plates and napkins and cups from Wal Mart (or Party City). She also made a yellow Hummer H2 for another neighbor's son's birthday last month.

My son birthday is Nov. 14. We are having him a Blue's Clue's cake made. The cake will be about 10 inh. just enough for the adults. I am going to have cupcakes for the kids. For my son's first birthday i did an ice cream cake that he just loved, but it was very messy. For his second birthday wa did a blue's clues cake because he loves the show. if your daughter is into the backyardigans, get her a backyardigans cake. or, you could bake a cake yourself. that's what i'm doing for my son's birthday this year. he's into the movie "cars" so i'm getting a "cars" cake pan from party city and baking his cake. it saves money and your kids don't really care what it looks like in the end...as long as it tastes good. cupcakes are also an idea.
