Did you look up Fifth Disease? They call it a "lacy" rash, and by the time you get the rash, the other symptoms are gone. It's harmless unless you are pregnant.
My son woke up this morning with a rash on his stomach, he does have eczema but this looks different.
We figured we would monitor it, and since this morning it has spread to his entire chest, and arms. It does itch
but no fever he feels fine. We are confused, what is it and should we take him in? I looked up viral rashes but didn't find any pics that I could compare to. Please help!!!

HI, my son had a rash at about 3 months (started on his belly and went all over his face, hands, feet etc.). I took him to the doctor only to learn that this it was a viral infection and extremely common in babies. I've never heard of this before.... until I started talking abuot it at work and many of my colleagues said their children had the same. Very odd, but I would still take your son to the doctor just to check that all is okay.

maybe this will help and if you are not sure of what it is then take him in, better to be on the safe side.
I would take him to the doctor. When my daughter was younger she would get a rash anytime she would get strep throat. Many times it would be the only way we knew she had strep because she would not have a fever or sore throat with it.
You might be allergic to something you ate (shrimp or peanuts), etc. Or grass, olive trees, dust mites, mold, those bed bugs you can't see or in the carpet. Just a start, you could see an allergiest because my son started with a rash. Good luck I hope you find out soon what it could be.
he needs to be seen-rash is indication something is going on-i'd find out asap.could be bacterial, systemic,viral---tell dr.office when you calll, hope he hfeels bettter
could be a number of things most pediatricians want to take a look at a child w/ a rash.
For me it looks like allergy. Did he recently eat something new or get food supplements he never had?
My son has rash coming up on his stomach twice a year. It is always on the same spots. I was not too concerned since it was not staying long and did not spread. In your case I would take him in, though even there is no fever. It is spreading and it is not comfortable for your son, since it is itching. Good luck!
If it lasts more than a few days I would take him to the doc, but rashes are common and varied, so I wouldn't worry about it right now. Try an oatmeal bath in the meantime to help with the itching.
