Need Help Transitioning Breastfeeding Baby to Bottle

I am trying to introduce a bottle to my 6wk old infant who has been exclusively breastfeeding up to this point. I need to return to work in 4 weeks and she will need to take a bottle of EBM that I have been pumping and storing. I have not had good luck with various bottles.
Here is what I have tried:
Daddy gives her the bottle (not me)
We try one feeding a day (usually early am 5-6am so Mom can get some sleep)
We use EBM cold from the frig
Avent bottle with slowest nipple - she accepts it but is somewhat fussy and alot of milk leaks out of the sides of her mouth.
Dr Browns nipple size 1 & 2 - less leakage but completely refuses the nipple after a few minutes.
Second Nature - similar to Avent bottle. Alot of lost milk and fights taking the nipple.
She takes the Soothie pacifier. Is this the next bottle I should try?
Please help! Any suggestions on bottles or tips to ease this transition?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We switched to a mid day feeding so that she would be more awake and possibly more willing to work with the bottle/nipple. We stuck with the Dr Browns bottle which she seemed to get more milk into her mouth vs down her chin with this bottle. As suggested we slightly warmed the milk or would feed it room temperature which I think helped. Also, as suggested, I completely left the room, or the house, and stayed out of sight. Incorporating all of these things, within a few days she was drinking milk from the bottle like a pro and we started to add more feedings till she was completely drinking EBM from a bottle at every feeding :)

This is what i did i would warm up the bottle with a eazy flow nipple then i would take off my shirt so my baby and i were skin to skin so that he would think he was breast feeding but then i would give him the bottle and he took it and when he would refuse it i would just wait till he got hungury then he would just take it because he was so hungruy but i really did not have that much trouble just have paytion with your little one he'll come around. Hi Shelly-

Like others have said, I would warm it up in a bottle warmer or by placing it in warm water. (No nuking as it kills the good stuff in EBM.) Bottle warmer worked best for me. We liked the kind that had an attached cooler for the milk, so that dad could keep all upstairs for that nighttime feeding relief....
I imagine that after a few minutes of a cold bottle, it is just too cold for her mouth. The little ones are so sensitive that way. You might try warming the Avent bottle and trying it again.

Also - just a note for future reference. When you have to wean the her from breastfeeding to a cup/sippy cup (if you are timing it to one year or so) then you can distract her from wanting to nurse by making a big deal out of it being a c~o~l~d drink (plus avoid sitting in your usual nursing place). I had to even take my daughter to her favorite little toy car and sit her in that to drink from the sippy cup. It all worked (especially the cold drink part) and she took to the non-mommy stuff with very little protest/whining.

I would definitely warm the breastmilk up. She is used to having it nice & warm from you. I would imagine she's not going to be too thrilled about it coming from a new dispenser AND cold from the fridge. I could be wrong, but I would try it warm. And I agree that a night time feeding might be better.

With my son, we gave him his first bottle at 4 weeks...warmed breastmilk, from Daddy, late evening, in a Platex bottle with the little "flat-top" nipple on it. He sucked it down like a champ. My error came in the fact that I didn't stick to it, and when I tried to give him another bottle 2-3 weeks later, he wouldn't have it.

Good luck. I hope you get a lot of suggestions & find something that works well for you.

Not sure what to tell you on the bottle introduction because all 3 of mine were immediately on the bottle. As far as the brand of bottle you are using, Avent, mine, too, leaked everywhere and I had to throw them away and buy cheaper ones. The brand really is bad.

If she takes the soothie pacifier she should take the bottle. same texture. There is gonna be milk coming out the side of her mouth until she gets used to the bottle and how much milk comes out when she sucks. don't worry about that. try giving her the bottle at night when she's getting ready to go to sleep. just keep her close to you she is used to your scent. and little by little she'll start to whine. hope it works !! lots of love. :)
