Hi M.! I think I have the answer for you! If you're ready to get rid of that baby weight, email me at ____@____.com! I look forward to helping you!
I have an 8 month old baby boy and when I was pregnant, I gained about 70 pounds. :) I was horrible about working out and eatting right. Towards the end, I got toxima and couldn't even get out of bed. I have lost maybe 20 of that 70 and need to know how to lose the rest. I have a gym membership and go frequently. As far as eating right, I LOVE food!! My fiance as well LOVES food and we go out to eat and we sit at home and eat. How can I make myself eat better? I want to feel better about myself!
Well I have started taking a diet pill called Venom Hyperdrive and it's amazing! I'm not hunrgy and actually have to make myself eat. I have been eating things more healthy and I feel much better with not stuffing my face as much and with eating better things! Thanks for all the advice! I love this website!

I am having a hard time eating well too, I have slowly bought more fruits and vegetables I have found that if I put low fat cheese, or spices on them they taste better and I buy dried fruits and they are good too. I do yoga at the ymca and that seems to help get me out of the house (where I sometimes eat because I am bored) If you eat out, just choose the healthier items no matter how hard it may be, if you are determined enough, you will succeed and stay positive no matter what. have you ever tried the salads at panera bread company (very good ) and pretty healthy. hope this helps
I love food too. A couple of things I did was: 1. I increased the time of my workout by 10 min. every 2 weeks until I was working out pretty hard for and hour 5-7 days a week. 2. I picked a time every evening to stop eating then back that time up every 2 weeks. (this is really easy if you and your fiance do it together). 3. Drink a 20oz glass of water 20 min. before eating. 4. I started eating my meals on smaller plates. After you finish your plate wait 20-30 min. before getting seconds. (this is how long your brain needs to realize your full). If you are still hungry after the 2o-30 min, by all means have seconds, just not a big portion. 5. I started replacing desserts and sweets with fruit. I would buy frozen or canned (no sugar added). I still ove my chocolate but now I don't crave it as much.
Good luck with everything,
M.
Hi M.,
I read a lot of your responses & although I'm no expert, there was one thing I just wanted to reiterate..........go slow. It takes a while to gain all that weight in your pregnancy & it will take a while to lose it all & keep it off permanently. You seem like you're willing to work out so with that I will recommend Shaklee's line of Cinch products. They are all natural ingredients. I took their vitamins in place of the prenatal vitamins & had less morning sickness so I thought I'd give their weight loss line of products a try. Slowly but surely, I really started noticing a change & then it came to the point where I couldn't stop losing the weight. I drink one protein shake every morning for breakfast & then eat normally for the rest of the day. I also do cardio at least 2-3 times per week. It's slow, but as these are permanent changes, it's worth it. Shaklee's Cinch line has a lot to choose from whether you like the protein shakes (I was already doing Slim Fast so it was an easy transition), vitamins to boost your metabolism or teas. I'm a huge skeptic about this stuff as I've tried some of the other lines before and it messed with my heart or I would have a "crash" session, but Cinch has no side effects like that at all. I highly recommend it for those of us that love food. I still have my vices, but now I'm making it easier on myself to lose the weight. Good luck!

I have fought the weight gain problem all my adult life. After having my first baby (I had toxemia too) sooo many years ago I was overweight. The weight came off but it took a year. A saying I heard was "it took you 9 months to gain it, give yourself nine months to lose it".Eating out is a major problem in weight control. Most of the chain restaurants have their dietary break downs (most are pretty scary) on their website so you can check before you go out. I found CalorieKing weight control software on the internet (very reasonable) and it works for me. It is based on true nutrition and includes exercise deductions. Very user friendly. As to exercise... I never belonged to a gym. I walk every morning and go to local aerobics twice a week.
I can tell by your question your ready to start now. So best of luck.
M. hello I know how you feel I had a hard time loosing the pounds after three babies. I have been in the medical field for 21 years and I started my own business with Shaklee 7 years ago and I love there Cinch weight management program. I have a special on the mamasource right now and if you would like to try the kit you will receive 15% off your order plus 50% another packet of drink mix. This diet helps you learn how to eat well and stay healthy. Oprah is also a great fan of this product. Go to my website take a look at call me I want to be there for you. Also we offer support services on line and by phone I live in Wichita but I will call you if you would like to have me do so. Also I work with a Family Practice Doctor and Pediatric Specialist out of Illinois that got me on this product after my babies. Good luck I with you all the way. Kathy
Hi M.. It took me probably a year to take off all the weight I gained. I was at around 50 pounds I think. I don't really have any advice, but I thought I would tell you about a video that I just got that was HIGHLY recommended to me. It's called Yoga Booty Ballet. You should check it out.
When my youngest was about 8 months, I joined Weight Watchers and it was the best thing that I could have done. I had two other gals from work that joined also and that helped tremendously - I'm not sure I would have been as motivated and committed if I didn't have someone else to "push" me. It is a wonderful program - not expensive at all - you don't have to limit anything you eat - you just have to learn the good from the bad, portion size, etc. They work you up from learning about nutrition to exercise, etc. I lost over 30 lbs in less than a year and still maintaining for the most part - up and down a lot. It was easy, it was fun and I still follow the points system you learn from Weight Watchers.
Don't get discouraged - see if you can find a meeting to go to and find a buddy - the babies daddy even - and go check it out. You can do it!!!
Hi M.!
Losing weight is always a challenge, especially when we REALLY DO like to eat. It sounds like you have another challenge because your fiance has the same "love language" with food. When food is seen as a "destination" rather than a means to do other things you love to do, then it is very difficult to stop. I encourage you to find the joy in doing other things to help ward off the fixation on food. Taking walks at local parks with the baby, dancing to music at home...are just a few things that make life fun, keep you moving, and takes the focus off of food. When the eating impulse seems overwhelming, try to ward it off by drinking non-caloric drinks or chewing gum. This always helps me.
Good Luck!
Transitionslifestyle.com is a great place to start. This lifestlyle teaches you how to eat low-glycemic. Low-glycemic index is a measurement of the impact carbohydrates have on our blood sugar levels. Nutri-systems uses low-glycemic in their program, but you have to buy their food. Transitions teaches you how to prepare your own food and also offers many tools to help you achieve your weight loss goal. This is the only system I've seen that burns fat, focusing on body composition. Another positive to learning how to eat healthier is we can teach our kids how to eat healthier too!
hi M.. you simply need to decide if the taste of all that food is better than the feeling of being fit, having energy to be the best mom you can be, enjoy trying on clothes and looking in the mirror and last but not least much better sex! trust me, no chocolate cake makes up for all of this. you and your partner need to find other activities to take the place of all the time you spend eating. try walking together & with baby. be patient with youself but be DISCIPLINED. that really is the name of the game. good luck.. it can be done. i had a similar experience w/my first pregnancy.. lost it and went on to have 2 other babies without gaining so much & losing it much faster. you can do it, it's worth it!
I gained 60+ lbs while pregnant with my daughter. It took me 10 months, but I was finally able to lose it all. Having healthy eating habits is a must and exercise is also important. Portion control & eating the right foods. When you go to the grocery store, don't go hungry, and only buy healthy things... that way, you never have it in the pantry. If eating out is hindering your weight loss, don't eat out. Or only go to places that serve healthy food.
You want to do it, you've got a gym membership, just keep it up! It won't come off instantly and it will be work, but you can do it!! :)
After my last baby quit nersing I couldn't seem to shed the pounds either. I finally spoke with my doctor and she agreed to put me on Phentermine 37.5mg. I know alot of people don't like the idea of taking diet medication, but it worked great for me. You take one pill in the morning and it controls your appitite throughout the day. If it tends to make you jittery, you can break it in half. When I started it, I weighed 180. Eight months later when I stopped taking it, I was down to 126! That was over a year ago and I've kept the weight off. It's not something for everyone, but it worked for me. Besides, most doctors aren't going to prescribe it indefinitely anyways.
Hi Meagan,
I don't live very close to you but I thought I would give my advise to you. I am a personal trainer and nutrition consultant. 15 years now in the business. I specialize in helping women like you lose weight after having a baby. I have always been skinny UNTIL I got pregnant with my first baby. I weighed about 120 lbs. and very fit when I got pregnant and when I delivered I weighed about 205 lbs. and very out of shape. I was younger (9 years ago) so it was a little easier to lose the weight but it did take 10 months to lose it. I got back to working out about 3-4 months after I had her and then I made sure my diet was always in check. I do NOT believe in "pills" to help you lose the weight. It really is just a mind set and making the choice to lose the weight and get healthy. I see it every day where women just want a quick fix and they sometimes can get it and then once that quick fix is over (like stop taking a "pill") then they gain the weight all back. The best advise I can give is you need to make a decision to be healthy for you and your family and then start making some better choices. I would be more then happy to help you via email. You can ask me anything. My email is ____@____.com
I do like the weight watchers program. They have great support for womem and if you follow the program like you are supposed to then you will lose the weight and learn how to eat your portion size. Good luck with your journey!

M., I am not that great at this, but I would start by keeping a journal of what you ARE eating. Start there so you can see what you can cut or add. Eat healthy and excercise, maybe a walk down the street and back (keep it simple, start slow) :)
Hi M.,
I joined Weight Watchers to loose that last 10 pounds. You can eat whatever you want, just not as much of it. I also just joined Contours Express in Lee's Summit. It is a new womens gym over by the Raintree plaza near Mcdonalds. The manager there is awesome and I know they have a MamaSource member perk where there is no sign up fee. It is a 30 minute circuit training. I wish I could tell you there was a magic pill, but I have looked everywhere and can't find one! It is just eating right and exercise that will get the weight off and it makes you feel so much better!

I feel you! I gained about 50 lbs with my daughter (who is not 20 months) and have struggled with getting it off, especially with my schedule. My husband hardly has time to work out with me because of his schedule. It's a thing of motivation+desire-laziness=results. I'm with you. I think the thing that has helped me is to get into a class at the Y and go. Also if you have a friend or your boyfriend to go with you, it makes it much easier. I'm tired of the way I feel and look too. Although I love my daughter dearly, I no longer look at myself the same way.
Hi M.,
