I've captured some very sentimental moments the past two months and after taking pictures of a friends beautiful wedding decided to clean up the pictures that weren't so clear and accidently deleted EVERYTHING, can anyone tell me if there is any hope of being able to recover my photos.....HELP!
Hello moms- I want to thank everyone for their response. I'm very proud of myself to say the least that I didn't cry and get totally upset for deleting all of my pics :). I tried a recovery site with no success so I then took them to Wolfe's photo and they didn't retrieve anything, I went back to that same recovery site and tried a different drive (don't think I had it right at first) and it worked, I paid about $42 on line and got most of everything back with a few that were blurred somehow but I was ok.

Also, depending on the type/brand of media card, it may have come with recover software or you may be able to download it. I've had to use Lexar's Image Rescue a few times and was able to recover a LOT! It's free! http://www.lexarmedia.com/drivers/index.html#software
Our computer did something to our memory card and we couldn't retrieve any maternity pictures and hospital pictures from having our first baby. I was heart broken. My husband took the card to Wolf Camera and they retrieved the pictures. They said it happens alot. It cost around $30.00 or $40.00 but well worth it.
Yes! First of all don't use the stick for anything...don't transfer any files or take any new pictures. And don't let the camera or the computer reformat it.
I would recommend starting with the recycle bin, see if there are still copies waiting to be deleted...that's the easiest fix. If not, there are freeware programs you can download and run to recover your files. I just did a search at www.cnet.com just click on the download tab and search for 'file recovery'. I like to sort by editor rating to get the best software at the top of the list.
If you google 'file recovery' you should also get some good articles and how-to's. HTH!

We accidentally did the same thing and my husband looked up the camera and camera software online and was able to download a program to recover the pics. It cost something more than expected, but it worked!
I don't know that there is honestly. But if anyone knows it will be a place like Wolf Camera. I would start there. Good luck! I know how devastating it is to lose pictures.
have you checked the recycle bin of your computer? it might be there.

as long as you don't take any pictures to cover them up so to speak, you can recover your photos. If you took more pictures, you will be able to recover the ones that were not replaced with new ones.
edit....just remember to not take anymore pics. when you delete, they aren't erased per say, you only make the space available for more things to occupy it. Once it is occupied, they will be overwritten.
Here is a link to see reviews of what you need and you can try the one you like. If one doesn't work, try a different one. If you have video, they may not be able to retrieve that, only the pictures.

As long as you didn't delete them with your camera, you should be ok. I had a computer malfunction the last day of our trip to Hawaii.... 300 pictures appeared to have disappeared from my memory card.
I did take it out and not use it. When I got home, I called my camera's tech support and they directed me to a website that would recover my pictures (for free). I did lose the first 3 - 4 pictures but they weren't even taken in Hawaii thank goodness.
Try your camera's tech support and see if they have the same thing.... second, search the web for a free data recovery or photo recovery program.
Good luck. I know how you feel.
Don't take any new photos on the camera and use RescuePro (look for it on the Internet). They let you do a trial before you pay to make sure the photos will restore. Then you pay and run the program again. Not too expensive either.
restore your computer to an earlier date.
I actually re-formatted my disk with my daughters 5th and son's 1st B-day on it last year. I googled how to restore deleated photos on a compact flash and found a program that offered a 100% money back gurantee, It cost just under $20, and worked great- it was well worth the money spent.
