Hi Mamas!
I am in desperate need of help! I just found out that i do not have the park i had reserved for my daughter's 3rd b-day party......this Sunday! I am looking for ideas for a place to have her party in the Plano area, but open to nearby areas. I don't want to do anywhere expensive. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

What about Bob Woodruff park? East Plano, easily accessible, and has everything you would need there.

There is a very nice little park and playground in my neighborhood. It's very shady, and has a nice large pavilion with several picnic tables. There are also volleyball poles you can use; and 2 or 3 grills. There is a nice large grassy area, too, that's great for playing soccer, etc. It's at Braeburn and Plano Rd. in Richardson, between Renner and Campbell, just north of the Owens farm.

I had my daughter's party at Going Bonkers. She turned 8, but I think that 3 yr olds would like it also, but you could look on their website. I didn't reserve anything, just took the kids and let them play and have fun. We had cake and presents when we got home again. It was very inexpensive and the kids loved it.

Otherwise I agree with the other poster, Bob Woodruff would be beautiful - but I have no idea about reservations and such.

What about the park at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve?? I'm not sure where you were originally scheduled, but I would try calling Parks and Recreation and asking them where there are openings. Either that or you could always have it at home and come up with a few inexpensive games to play. Good luck!

I know you don't want to spend a lot of money, but you could look into The Little Gym at Spring Creek and Preston or My Little Gym at Independence and Parker. Both places have birthday parties on Sundays and provide a fun place for the kids to play. I have no idea how much it costs, but the phone call to find out is free :)

When my kids were little, we always had their birthdays at the church--why don't you ask there?

And just because the pavillion is reserved at the park you wanted, doesn't mean the whole park is reserved! Take some tables or see if there are others outside the pavillion, and still have the party there--the kids just want the space to run and the playground, anyway!

Good luck!
