Take him to the Dr.! In children that young a simple sniffle can deteriorate into something much worse. I've seen it in my kids and even my husband.

At five months you cannot give him anything for his sore throat. But you can for his cough. I put baby vicks vapor rub on the bottom on the feet then place socks over that. The cough will stop.
Definitely take him to the Dr. It will let you know what you're dealing with. My husband is recently retired from the AF (22 years in). We have young children and it seems they always get sick when we're out of town. I also encourage you to call Tricare. They are so great with helping you find somewhere to take him(if you're not near a base) and of course there is the base clinics. Hope he gets well soon.

Of course you should take him!!!! Call the Tricare (or whatever the Air Force number is called) and take him to the emergency room.
Please find an urgent care and take him in...if he's having trouble eating, it could be strep or something that requires medicine.
Good luck.
hard to say using only 2 long-distance symptoms, but try Hepar Sulph 30C. it is homeopathic remedy, if you are anywhere close to Whole Foods they should have it. if he would not take the tablets (they are sweet), dilute in water, shake often and give sips every 10-15 min for the first several hours. if he takes tablets, give several at a time with same frequency. if it is a correct remedy - (may not be, considering lack of symptoms), it will advance the process to the natural conclusion - most likely expulsion of pus.
Good Luck

Hi D., yes i think you should take him especialy if he's running a fever, peace of mind is always good when you are a mom. Hope he's feeling better. J. L.
Yes you should take him to the Dr.'s he could have a throat infection.....
At this age, I would definitely bring him to the doctor... Especially because he can't tell you exactly what is wrong yet!
Yes, yes, yes...and do so every time he seems ill for the first 2 years of his life.
It should not last long-3 days. My one year just had a virus in her throat, and there was nothing to give her since it was a virus. Apparently it should run its course for 3 days, and be better. She did have to return again to the Dr., and she still had an irritated throat, and it progressed into chest congestion.....thus they gave her antibiotics.
Will you ba back in town soon? With an infant i think it is always best to get them seen no matter what. I hope baby is getting better already!
Yes, definitely take him to the doctor (an urgent care probably is available) and do it ASAP.
D.,
He should be seen by a doctor. Take him as a pre-caution. Good luck.
Is he running a fever?Did he just have shots? I would watch him carefully when they are young they can dehydrate easily. Make sure he is drinking even if he doesn't eat a lot of solid food (if he is eating solids yet)Liquid is most important. I would be careful about taking him to sit in a crowed ER there is probally worse things he could catch. You said out of town but didn't mention where. I would see if there is a pediatrician that could see him if it comes to needing to be seen insteaad of an emergency room. Give me lots extra love and fluids to help him fight off this bug. Good luck!! If he has trouble breathing take him right away!!
If he were mine i would take him to a urgent care facility or a doctor, it sounds like he has an infection. You didn't say if he is running a fever. Anyway it always plays to be safe, especially when away from home. Sandy
Yep off to the doctor with you!
