I love Cedar Park Family and Pediatric-Dr. Cardwell and Dr. Kilgore. They are located on Cypress Creek.
I really like our pediatrician, however, ADD just seems to be routine. I need a good pediatrician who is capable of understanding what my child (almost 10yrs) is going through and someone who will work with my child to get some solutions along with the medication. Anyone found a doctor like that in the Cedar Park area? I'm not asking for a nice doctor or a friend, I'm asking for a great doctor who is compassionate in this area.
Thanks to you all for your responses. I checked out all the resources that were given to me. With our situation, we just need a pediatrician since we feel like the diagnosis was correct. Dr. Deharo was great and we will switch to him. I'm glad it was a seamless solution. He was very kind and understanding and we got in right away. Thanks to all of you. I have given all of your doctor advice to the learning lab teacher at my son's school as well.

Maybe consider getting a referral to a specialist, like a neurologist. My 14year old son with ADHD sees Dr. Kerr with Specialty for Children.
I do not know a pediatrician in Cedar Park. But if you want a good physician try Dr Dilip Karnik. He's a pediatrician neurology. He specializes in working with kids with ADD and ADHD. He's located in the new Dell Children hospital. The clinic's name is 'Specially for Children. Try him out I think you will get the results that you need.
Dr. Byron Kocen is no longer a Pediatrician, but specializes with ADD & ADHD children. Depending on your insurance you may need to keep the pediatrician and get a referral for a specialist.
His # is ###-###-####
Try Pediatric Associates of Austin. ###-###-####. Amazing dr's. Try for Dr. Sheila Boes
I can relate to what you are going through as I am actually going through the same thing. I do like my pediatrician and we have actually, just this week, started my daughter on medication. I really wanted additional testing performed by a neurologist but the first appointment we could get was in June. We tried diet and vitamins with not much result so we decided to move forward with medication. So far, the difference has been remarkable. I still plan on taking her to a neurologist to have more objective testing done so I guess what I would suggest is that you ask your pediatrician to recommend you to a neurologist or a psychologist who are experts and can have additional testing performed. If you have already done that, and just need a pediatrician who is knowledgeable with ADD, then I would recommend our pediatrician, Rafael deHaro ###-###-####). He is located behind the Round Rock Hospital. Good luck.
I don't know about how he handles ADD, but my pediatrician is great! And he's in Cedar Park. I know that he's great about actually figuring out what's wrong with my son when he's sick while other doctors in the after hours clinic will say "he looks viral" or something just as helpless. He's been great about finding the correct medicine for my son. When my son was about 4 mos. old (or so) I had another doc prescribe a med that was giving him BAD diarrhea. We took him to his doc and he gave us something that wasn't so bad for him. The other med we were told was too strong for his age. I highly reccomend calling Dr. Chris Spencer at ARC Cedar Park, ###-###-####.
I do not have first hand knowledge, but my nephew suffers from ADD along with some other learning disabilities. He is being raised by my in-laws and they love their pediatrician. Dr. DeHaro in Round Rock, I believe the practice is called Wyoming Springs Pediatrics.
We use him as well after having an awful experience with another pediatrician. He is very open to interviews and discussions before you decide to join the practice.
Good luck!
